For salt stains, spray vinegar. It neutralizes the salt after letting it dwell for a minute or two. Heat also helps, if you can use some hot water afterwards, a tough brush and agitation, the salt stain is more than likely to be gone.
For pet hair, a pumice stone is the best tool! Really makes it easy to remove the hairs from carpets. |

Also go to Target and get one of those lint rollers on a handle...they are great for initial hair pick-up..and I use it on regular basis on the rag top which attracts dust and linty specs. Roller works well in the interior as well.
