New Wheels
Well, now that it is getting cold up here, of course I decide to put new wheels and tires on the roadster just before putting it up for the winter. It's an '03 2.5 with the Sport, Convenience and Premium Pkgs.
i should mention that Alan @ **********s assisted in my choice of these wheels, not only due to the fact that the original VMR wheels that I ordered are backordered until January, but really due to the excellent customer service that they provide. After learning that the VMR VB3's in 18" staggered wouldn't be around until there was a foot of snow on the ground up here in Michigan, Alan did some calling around to vendors and checking with the powers-that-be @ **********s, and came up with the solution: AvantGarde M335 18" Powder-coated Hyper-silver, with 18"x8", ET35 offset up front and 18"x9" ET38 offset out back. He explained that the AvantGarde wheels were low-pressure cast, and would be stronger and lighter than the gravity-cast VMR wheels, and the powder-coating would provide a more durable finish. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse, and I finally had time last week to get them mounted with new tires. They are shod with Continental Extreme Contact DWS 225/40/18 in front and 255/35/18 on the back, and do not rub at all. I've run this tire on the stock Turbine 17" wheels for a year now, and they really perform well in the lower temps, allowing me to drive the car earlier and later in the seasons vs. running summer tires. I must note that the offsets fill up the wheel wells very nicely, and push the tires out just right. Other than an aux-in, a ZHP shift knob, and K&N filter, this is the first major mod that I have done to the car, and am considering the next step... Now that the long story is done, here's the final result: Before: After: |

It was my pleasure helping you out Daniel. I'm glad that everything has worked out accordingly to plan and the Avant Garde M335 18" in Hyper Silver look perfect on your Z4! What's next on the mod list? I’d love to help you achieve the goals you have for your car!
I do take care of all zpost forum members so feel free to contact me by either PM, email me at Alan************.com, or give me a call here at ************** x 8006 and I'll do my best to help you guys out! - Alan |

I really like the change but no need to put up your Z4 for the Winter. I drive my cars through snow, ice, rain, etc...never had any issues in 20 years except for 4 days the snow was 3 feet and my RWD cars couldnt push through. lol SUV time and chains...
I feel that you can be gone from this Earth tomorrow (and its a fact) so live it..
