Considering a 2008 E93 M3
I was wondering what everyone thinks of this deal.

Not bad, I got $14 500 off my e93 cab in Calgary. Perhaps there is a little more room to get a discount. Otherwise, not to bad I think

Yeah I'd think they could do better than that, isn't the factory to dealer incentive on 2008 E93s at $10k+ these days? You should be able to get 6% discount from the dealer on top of the factory incentive and even more if the car is in stock at that dealer.

+1 I agree, that incentive is from BMW Canada, you should ask for more discount, or perhaps some accessories thrown in tints 3M etc.

Maybe I'm better off trying to sell it privately? |

Am I better of selling privately? Look at this car, it's very similar to mine.

You should offer them $35K net difference, and see what they say, as they are currently at $42K + Taxes That way you get a trade-in value surplus of $7K which means you get $43K or a $8K discount on the M3 at $71,645 either way you look at it. What do you think is a resonable pre-tax net-difference figure? |

$40K-$42K (including taxes) equates to $35K-$37K (pre-taxes) which is what I suggested as a reasonable offer in my previous post So if thats the case, start with $35K+Taxes as your offer! |

Yes 35K + taxes would be ideal. Can you sell this car at that price and make some profit? Obvioulsy they won't sell it if they're not making anything?

Worst case the numbers you posted above are a pretty good deal on an e93 M3 as you wont get that on an 09 anytime soon - espcially if you want to enjoy the top down this summer. |

1. Because what ever they have discounted you so far is an incentive from BMW Canada, so that $13,500 they get it back from them. 2. By offering them $35K+ Tax will mean $7K to play with from their profit centre, they eat a bit on their profit on the M3, and value the trade (335i) a bit more 3. You just sent a link for a 2007 335i at BMW Toronto which is selling for $48K, so...thats what they will sell your 335i for! In the end the dealer still wins, because he makes money on both cars regardless, and IMO showing the numbers one way or the other on papers is meaningless... hopefully things work out for you, but dont sleep on it... |

If you think differently from me, bear in mind the coupe has FAR greater limits than the convertible....not just accelaration where there is a slight difference, but hard cornering, the coupe (or sedan for that matter) will pull nearly a G of lateral acceleration. In cornering grip the M3 convertible is no better than a sport package 335i coupe... food for thought. |
