What is the best way to fix stone chip?

Recently I got a small stone chip near my door. Anyone know how to fix it and with the best finish look? My friend told me to install a paint protector on my bumper and front hood to protect them. Should I do it?

I repaired a few chips with Dr. Color Chip and that seemed to work pretty well.

Get some of the BMW touch up paint, in the small bottle from your dealer. Apply a very small amount, just enough to fill the chip. Use a small amount on a toothpick and dab a liitle on.

What is paint protector? Are you referring to the 3M Clear Bra? I think it is a good idea, but get it done by a shop who does good work.
