Exhaust Flaps: BM3 vs Valve controller

Hi all,

I'm currently running BM3 with 'Exhaust Flap (Sport): OPEN'.

Is this the same exact effect to having a dedicated valve controller from Dahler or Macht Schnell?

The goal is trying to keep my valves fully open such as when rolling in neutral.

I thought with BM3 it was open all the time in sport and sport+ if you set it to open in the tune. Just not in efficient.

If your goal is to only have it open all the time you can use BM3 if you want the ability to adjust it on the fly eg keeping time closed in your neighborhood early morning or cruising w your girl than you’ll need a valve controller

The JB4 also controls the valves pretty easily, just 1.5 second press of the turn signal BC button changes the valves

I guess what I'm asking is - is having the flaps open via BM3 the same thing as a valve controller when driving in sports plus?
