Longshot - Clutch Noise HELP
This may be a long shot, but worth asking. In the attached video, if you LISTEN closely, you will hear when I engage the clutch (press the pedal in) a louder CLICKING noise. Then when the clutch is not engaged (pedal out), the clicking noice goes away. Any ideas on what this could be? It goes away sometimes and the clicking stops if I do not engage the clutch fully, but when it's engaged, it's a loud clicking.

My thought is it’s likely the throw out bearing on the clutch. It’s possibly worn out. The accelerated wear can occur from extended clutch pedal “in” times, for instance standing on the clutch when stopped instead of shifting into neutral and letting go of the clutch. I could be way off, maybe it’s the dual mass flywheel that’s seen it’s last days. This is just a guess, since I don’t have this noise, but just a suggestion of something to have looked at.

Another vote for failing throwout bearing. Probably not in danger of a catastrophic failure but don’t take the chance. I recommend getting it to a shop soon, especially if the noise gets louder.
