Can you cancel lease end protection and extended maintenance?
I'm taking over a lease that has 12 months and 18k miles left of the allotted 3 years/36k.
The person I am assuming this lease from bought lease end protection and extended maintenance on the car....I won't need either of those. Can I cancel those warranties and get a refund? The transferor is in California and I heard that's one of the few states that require pro-rated refunds?

I think the extended maintenance is not the same extended maintenance you think when you purchase a car. What it "extends" is the coverage to include brake pads and rotors. It does not extend the time frame since they would not allow you to purchase that since you are leasing the car for 3 years and the default 3 years free maintenance would cover your entire lease.

Extended maintenance I believe you are correct on....in other words, it's legitimately burning money for the original owner who bought it....as you will never need brakes or rotors within the first 36k miles unless you are tracking the car. Still trying to determine the specifics on that as it seems this was a third party warranty and not the BMW extended maintenance.
