new 2015 m3 owner

Just picked up 2 days ago 9800 miles

A few questions can my splitter be fixed or do i need a new one.

a/c turns on automatically when i start the car is that normal or can that be disabled. Prior to turning car off a/c was not on.

Congrats on the new ride m8. The splitter can be probably be fixed, but it's not that expensive so I would get a new one or a different one for piece of mind tbh. Afaik the AC shouldnt turn on when the car turns on even if it was off prior.

Car looks good. 9800 mile is crazy low. Can I ask how much you paid for this.

yikes that front lip is toast! you will need a new one. they are about $400 + labor.

it looks like an oem m performance lip which is secured pretty damn good. previous owner must have hit something pretty hard.

did you have a PPI done on the car before purchase? is the oil cooler and rest of the underbody ok?

You can turn off the AC and it'll stay that way when you restart the car. however if you turn off the fan it WILL come on with a restart at level 1 out of 5.

As far as the A/C goes unfortunately zee Germans think they’re smarter than you and have designed the A/C to come on (even if it was off when you turned car off) if it senses high humidity. Mine will run for a short time even with the A/C switched off when I first start the car if it senses high humidity. Unfortunately it’s a common complaint from many owners.

I did not do a ppi I inspected myself. Car had original tires on it that need to be replaced mainly because of age. Car was very clean.
all service was done by bmw and he just put a new battery in which was about $2000

Car did have driver door replaced with oem door as it was hit minor damage but needed a new door. I was provided a photo from the seller and documention from the bodyshop that replaced the door.

In regards to the a/c coming on I discovered it is only the fan that comes on and have read that it can be coded not to come on with bimmercode ?

So with the door replacement did it show up on CarFax. Or did he pay for it out of pocket. You got a great deal either way.
