2018 x5 3.5i xdrive 22 inch rims

I have a base model pearl white f15, was looking to throw fender flares and either 21 or 22 inch summer wheels on em. Was wondering if i need to get tpms put in the rims when i order them, also was just making sure that if i got 22 inch rims that i wouldnt have a problem with fitment or turning. Thank you

All three X5's here are on 22" all season tires with zero issues with fitment.. You will need new set of TPMS if you plan to keep your originals.

Depending on offset and tire size you could have some minor rubbing at full lock. The more aggressive the width and offset the more likely you could get some rubbing. You should be safe though if you stay close to stock offsets and overall diameter.

And yes, you should get new TPMS sensors unless you plan to transfer the sensors from your stock wheels.

The warning light will annoy you without TPMS Sensors.

I think you might experience the rougher ride quality. I took out a loaner with 19" today and man ride quality is so much better than mine with 20". Or did my car just crapped out on me? This loaner feels so much more luxurious than almost fully loaded car.

If you go from 19 runflat to 21 or 22 runflat then yes it will probably be stiffer. But if you go from 19 runflat to 21 or 22 non runflat. The difference will be minimal.

Also, summer tires usually have a stiffer sidewall when compared to an all-season. Lots of variables to consider. Not just the wheel size.

I appreciate all the feedbAck, i definitely know that the ride will be a little rougher when going from 19-22s , in some cases people said their car was smoother on 22s which i find hard to believe. Im more concerned with getting the right offset and staggered set up. 22x11 rear and 22x10 front is what im goin for but i found a set 22x11 with 22x9 in the front, is that a problem?

Agree. 22" non rft all seasons was very similar and comfortable as my 20" rft summer.

It's because BMWs suspension were designed for runflat tires. So the suspension is probably tuned to be on the soft side. The oem run flat tires have a very stiff sidewall in order to be driven with no air. A run flat with no air looks like it's fully inflated.

22" non RFT are softer.
I was one of the first to put on and had to explained how much better it is compared to the 20" RFT.
Few local customer couldn't believe it and took a ride in my X5. After the ride, they finally convinced on how much better it is.
Also, the RFT ride will get harsher as the thread getting lower.

For that wheel size, 22x9 front, 22x11 rear is fine. Offset is the most important to avoid fitment issue.
The width of course 22x10 front is better since OEM is 20x10.
And usually with 22", the tire size will be 295/30-22 which will looks bulging on 9" width wheel. While the rear 335/25-22 on 11" width is ok.

I hope that help.

You could also run the tire setup I have which would work fine for the wheel widths you are looking at.

I'm running Atturo AZ850s in the following sizes:
275/35/22 Front on 22x9
315/30/22 Rear on 22x10.5

The front tires do bulge out a bit but I don't mind it and it provides some curb protection. They are also a little taller than the OEM overall diameter so provide a bit more sidewall height than the sizes Ben (RG Sport)mentioned.

The tires have been great so far but I have only been driving on them for about 3 days now...There is another member running them and likes them. There are folks on the Audi and Porsche SUV boards that have have been running them for quite some time and have rave reviews, which is what helped convince me to purchase them. The price is right too.

Not a bad deal on the Delinte's, I just haven't done much research on them but have generally heard good things.

I would also like to get this information along with offset.

I am looking at a 22" with a +15 offset.

I'm running a set of 22x9 +15 and 22x10.5 +20. The wheels are very flush to the leading edge of the fender flares. I can post a few pics if that helps.

Do you think 22x9 +15 square setup would look right?
