use M1 0w40 for oil change?
I had planned to do an oil change this weekend with a friend and his e92. I have everything but the bmw 5w30. I stop at dealer and they are out of stock?? Bozarre. I obviously don't have to change it but I also used M1 0w40 in all prior bmw so thinking about using the M1.
Any thoughts? |

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Ok then! I was just hoping to hear any results as I can't find any analysis specs of the new bmw 5w30 oil to compare. If m1is a ton thicker or something I would have waited. I'll go for it! One guy said it made his car sliwer! Hey just doing due diligence!

I just changed my car at 5k with M1 0w-40. I checked the levels via i-drive and have been monitoring the temps - basically in line w/ the factory fill to date.
