RaceChip XLR

Has anyone installed this in their M8? If so, is it worth it?

// Do you mean the throttle pedal device that adjusts pedal travel:engine response or the engine tune itself? I'm assuming the engine tune… correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes. Many have. As have many with a JB4. Both work well. The JB4 yields faster results.

Both fuck your drivetrain+related/downstream components warranty completely should you ever need it.

You should Google this one—there's SO much out there already.

// I used the PedalBox in my E63S and it worked as advertised. Not the same device—granted—but it proved the principle works.

I don't feel the need for pedal control in this car.

The piggies will return noticeable performance gains.

concur--- all the throttle does is just change your input to fuel dump location on the pedal.

Your car just got faster--- err wait it got faster cause you only had to push it 1/3 vs 4/5ths. Pass.

While Im a RC user on two cars I will not use this product as the BMW throttle inputs are twitchy enough in the aggressive sport plus set up.

I have the Racechip but not the pedal xlr for the same reasons as stated above. r33_RGSport sells Racechip and you can ask him too.

For me, like Vic55 above, I don't find a need to push 1/5ths instead of 7/8ths. However, I've got friends that have installed pedal commanders and similar products on different cars and love it. They swear by it.

But honestly, it does nothing except move the points. Full throttle is still full throttle. And kick down beyond full throttle is more than enough power on the bmw m8 and m850.

However, the base Racechip GTS Black, does add some nice power. Jb4 or Racechip are the 2 main options; if you can't or don't want a full ECU tune.

As others has mentioned, it doesn't add hp.
I've it on both my F97 X3MC and G05 X5, and used to have it on my '16 Cayenne Base and G30 540i.
IMHO, It is a good addition for your daily drive.
The other thing that I notice, because it adjust your gas pedal sensitivity, it stimulate the transmission to down shift earlier whenever needed. Less pedal input when you need to overtake.

My gas pedal spends much of its time flat on the floor; kinda reminds me of my youth… but I digress.

I had the PedalBox on my E63S where I felt it was necessary and it was indeed beneficial there but I just can't see the need for it on any of my M5s or the M8.

Lucky you. I can't even step on my gas pedal. Slow drivers will cut me off most of the time, thinking that they are faster than me.

Happens all the time in my SUVs; but oddly enough, never in my m850i. They get out of my way!
