Advice on E92 325i Price
Hi,
I'm currently in the market to upgrade from my 2006 BMW 320i. I've been looking at the 135i and the 325i and have decided that the looks of the 325i Coupe outweigh the performance of the 135i. I was hoping that someone out there could give me an idea of what I'm looking at paying (on the road) for a new E92 325i with the following options:
I also read somewhere that the M Sport Package and Innovations package are one package now? Or was that just on the E90 Sedan only? Are there any other options anyone would recommend I get? Also, does anyone have any idea on what the current wait time for a custom build is? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Last edited by UnknownPerson; 10-12-2010 at 07:41 AM.. |

How about sunroof? Or active cruise control. The 6FL USB interface is also very useful.
A E90 I bought was about 5 weeks out of the factory + transit time = I guess 3 months in Australia. Phone up a dealer and they will give you the on-road price, without a discount which will be about $90k. Some guy on here said he got $12.5k off a 320i sedan. I got about $5k of a 325i sedan in Perth a few years ago, but that was one off the lot, not a special build. Do the rest of the BMW community in Australia a big favour and screw the dealer down on the price as much as possible and don't buy it the day you first talk to them, so they get more used to big discounts as being standard practice. Thanks for the fast reply!
I never seem to use the sunroof in my current car, but it's always something I've had in my cars so I'll probably end up getting one again unless I start to go over my budget. 6FL USB - That's needed for the iPod isn't it? If so I'll definitely need to add that to the list. I'm guessing that $90k on the road is without the options? I've sent of an enquiry to Privatefleet to see what sort of price they can get me, otherwise I'll be doing the rounds and chasing the best possible price I can get. |

I'm thinking full RRP would be around $108K so something under $100K drive away would be doing OK.
Similarly when I asked re specific order it was 5-6 weeks build time then allow 3 months to float to Aus from Munich.

Do you find you use the front PDC a lot? I'm tempted to get it, not that I've ever hit anything but it's always handy to have I guess, especially when driving a new car and getting used to it. How do you find the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's? Are they much of an improvment over the run flats? I find my current 320i has a lot of road noise from the run flats, so one of the first things i'm looking at doing is switching over to non run flat tyres. I guessed it would be about a 3 month delivery, hopefuly I can pick one up coming into Australia already. Otherwise I'm not too bothered on waiting. Thanks again! |

You can go to the BMW Oz website, enter your postcode and get Drive Away pricing for the base model, excluding options (~$94,669.70).
http://bmw.com.au/faces/jModelCompar...84&tab=Pricing You can also go to the online Configurator and build your dream car with your preferred options (unfortunately it doesn't show prices). The Configurator didn't load right now, not sure if it's my PC or the website? http://bmw.com.au/com/en/newvehicles...figurator.html I ordered my car a year ago and it took 3 months all up (ordered in September but had to wait for an October build slot). 3er sedans are built in South Africa but I think coupes are still built in Germany. If you do decide to order, you can find out how to track the shipment of your car here... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41815 |

Front PDC, I am embarrassed to admit, I love. We park on the street in the inner city and I like the way you can more easily work out where you are in the spot you've chosen. We also have a tandem garage at our weekender which only *just* fits both E9xs.
PS2s are wonderful, wonderful tyres. They have so much grip and when you breach that limit, they are progressive and communicative. They are rather less upset by fine surface changes too, quieter and improve the small bump ride as well as assisting the large bump absorption. They give a more comfortable, compliant secondary ride with less bump/thump and coarse surface roar than our 320d Touring which has 16 inch RFTs . Rears are wearing a bit faster though - hopefully will get 25,000km, could be my driving.

+1 on the front PDC. The pre-LCI E90 I had I don't think you needed it. However on the LCI the bonnet has become taller to meet pedestrian impact standards and it is harder to judge distance to the front bumper.
Maybe if you are in Victoria, you want heated seats or heated steering wheel. |

I love the look of the 225M's but I think I've decided on the BMW Performance 269's. I haven't completely ruled out the 225M's, however when I was looking at getting a 135i I was looking at getting the 269's then as well. The 269's look even better in 19" than they did in 18"! |

Okay, quick update.
Just had a huge WTF moment on the phone with Privatefleet, two dealerships have come back with some nice pricing. One was $88,000 on the road and the other was $87,500 on the road. This is taking into account my current lease being completely paid out. In light of such good pricing, I've requested that they also try and get a price on a 335i E92 Coupe. Now, My budget was for anything less than $110,000.. However going by the pricing they were able to get on the 325i with options, and giving that everything comes standard on the 335i except the Transmission and Paint.. If they can get somewhere close to $110,000 drive away, I'd take it. Am I being unrealistic considering the pricing they've been able to get so far? |

It's not the end of the world if i cant get the 335i, would be nice though. I did visit a BMW Dealership today to get a quote on a 325i E92, 335i E90 and a 335i E92, just to keep Private fleet honest. This is the initial quote that I was given over the phone: 325i E92 - $109,000 335i E90 - $130,000 335i E92 - $140,000 This was with: DCT & Metallic Paint, no other options. He then asked me to come back on Monday to negotiate. Looks like Privatefleet is a real winner, already $22,000 less than they're initial quote on the 325i E92. Haven't heard back yet on the 335i E92 price. Saw an Alpine White 325i Sedan at a BMW today, looked fantastic. |

We've purchased 3 BMW's from there so far, so I was a bit surprised when they didn't offer a better price straight out of the gate. On a brighter note, they did have a nice brand new 760i there today, looked fantastic. |

That's an excellent discount. Solid black instead of sapphire black will save you a bit of cash if it isn't standard on a 335i and a 335i is starting to push your budget.
You know the new F3x 3-series is due for release in about 18 months through, right? Or maybe 2 years by the time it makes it to Australia. Should have the 8-speed automatic in the F10 5-series. |

If worst comes to worse I'll just make a decision on whether to get a 335i E90 Sedan or stick with the 325i E92 Coupe.. I heard something about the New F3x 3 series coming out in 2012/2013, the lease on my current car ends in September of 2011, which is why I'm getting rid of it now. Can't wait another 2 years or more to upgrade. |

I posted in another thread that around 3 months ago I was offered 115k for a 335 sedan without a sunroof so you're not far off (and this is boom town where we pay more for everything). Go in on the last day of the month and tell them you're ready to sign up and see what happens. Good hunting.
PS not relevant but most recently 180k for a M3 sedan but i'm not sure what kind of a deal that represents - if good then you've got some idea of what to expect. Last edited by TaylorA; 10-15-2010 at 08:15 PM.. |
