F92 EOP early 2025

BMW Bulletin:

Please be advised that production for the M8 Coupe (258F) will cease in early 2025, and there will not be a MY26 version.

This model has been turned off from Ordering and no new orders are being accepted moving forward.
Any unit that is currently in 105 or 047 (as of December 20th) will be pulled in and produced. This will take 1-2 weeks to process and assign production numbers.
While the M8 Coupe is not available for ordering anymore we still have the M8 Convertible and M8 Gran Coupé available for our customers.
The M8 Coupe will be removed from the website and BYO in January.

So sad... I thought it was going a few more years. They must really be selling poorly.

Not new news, but at least it's confirmed. Can't wait to see the redesign M8 GC.

I expected Coupe to have better selling than Convertible.

Me too. Curiously while I was ordering my coupe and working with my sales guy to see if he could dealer trade for one with, he was finding dealers on the east coast anxious to trade convertibles that BMW had pushed on them (I guess the dealers don't get to pick the cars they want to order?). It was like BMW wanted to sell the convertible more than they did the coupe.

In any event, I'm glad my order got made in time - it arrived at the dealership last night

I have never been a Coupe fan for any vehicle, but sad that it is being removed from the lineup. I really do hope they do not do any of the bedazzling like they did on the M5 for the Convert and GC.

When I was shopping for my convertible M8 last month I was able to find plenty of drop tops but didn’t see a single coupe. Are coupe buyers just going for the M4?

Well not sure. Maybe it’s BMW marketing strategy. The same way they produce M4 more than M3 and usually stop M3 before M4. That happened to both E9x and F8x.

I was just chatting with my sales rep and he brought this up. His perspective/guess is that what happened is they ran out of parts to make the Coupe, and that's why it was shut down first. He said (here in Calif) their sales of the Coupe were higher than the Convertible or GC.

So if this is the case then most probably 2024 and 2025 Coupes will hold the price better than other M8s

Wow, that surprises me. The Coupe is easily the best looking vehicle in the M8 lineup in my opinion (and therefore the best looking car in the current BMW production car eco-verse).

It's all subjective of course, but I've never cared for the look of any convertible with the top up, and the Gran Coupe has that odd squishy stretched look... and it's a four door sports car which I've always disliked. Hopefully the M8 Comp Coupe will come back, but possibly this is good news for those of us holding on to one insofar as value is concerned?

So the fastest car will be removed from the BMW portfolio. The F93 and F91 is a lot heavier. They want customers to buy the heavy, slow M5 G90 and be happy.

Both of you have good points and I agree.
M8 Coupe is the best looking and quickest BMW in current lineup.
In term of G90 M5, I believe people who are interested in sedan should get M8GC instead… Much better car over all.

After seeing the carwow, I come to the conclusion that the M8 Convertible F91 and M8 Gran Coupé F93 is faster than the M5 G90

Maybe they have run out of carbon parts for the Coupé body ? Too expensive to produce and they can't afford it. The Gran Coupé doesn't have it and the Convertible also

there was no need to trade them as the M8 allocations were flexible between coupe/convertible/gc. Meaning if you got a convertible allocation, you could change it to a gran coupe (for example)

That is the hope. I typically hold on to my cars for 10+ years, and this is even more of an incentive to hold onto my M8 Comp Coupe.

The M8 Comp Coupe will likely end up being the fastest ICE car (plus the M5 CS) that BMW has ever made, since in the future, BMWs this fast will probably be hybrids or BEVs. Also, with a 0-60 mph of 3 seconds or less, a top speed of 190 mph, a big trunk, and around a 400-mile range, how much more performance will there be in future cars given all the restrictions now being placed on vehicles? Think about this, a lot of the flat and ugly front end looks of recent cars are due to pedestrian impact regulations.

Supposedly the redesign starts in 2027 so should expect to see it roughly in mid 2026. Time will tell. Hope it has buttons.

It's interesting for sure. It was posted at some point the numbers sold for each model the last few quarters. I could have sworn the coupe was the best seller for the 8 series so quite surprised like others that they chose to discontinue it over the vert. Unless there's plans to make a bigger coupe like the M4s big sis then unsure what they're thinking.

Agree
And maybe the new chapter for legendary E31 …. F92 is the only 2 door M8 in BMW history!
