G12 7 Series Differential on G15 M850?

Hi Everyone,

Have a 2019 M850 with a leaking differential, has about 104K clicks on it.

Dealer told me i would need to get it replaced, however new the cost is astonishing. I have been searching and found that the G12 may share the same differential with a 2.81 gear ratio.

The part # i need is the following: 31508679973

I have been told by a local tuning shop that the one i am interested will fit. Link:

It seems like the diffs on the 50i cars all across the board are failing now. BMW ought to do something about it. First it was the coolant tank, now this... unacceptable. I just had my front diff replaced for about 6 grand.
