Impressive results from the M8 even with winter tires and wet conditions. Not the best conditions for either car but clearly M8 is the winner... That video sound from the Merc's perspective was ewwwwww.

My guess is tenac didnt feel it sounded good on the video and I agree but in person the M177 engine is a ripper for sure and better than the s63tu out of the box.

Yeah, reminded me of a specific motorcycle, but I can’t remember which one.

And then there is this video--- the sound of these three cars come off great with the Lexus just being the shocker (I knew it sounded good but come on!!)

Maybe its an OPF thing with the GT63S??

I find it really hard to believe they are getting those times on a wet track from a stock car, 10.80s is the quickest I have ever seen an M8 go on a dry track.

I have to agree ... something is interesting to say the least. For us owners the bragging rights give me a semi but I think is a bit faux in nature.

LOL

Not an M8 test but kind of a cool thing done by carwow... of course dynos all read different but at least in this test its the same one for all the cars ...

BMW, as expected is underrated... but the dyno appears to be optimistic for sure especially in the tq dept. Not sure what conversion they used since it was a wheel hp dyno (I think)... M5 fanboys getting moist LOLOL (Mat kills it)

Well I think that confirms what we all already thought, but it's nice to see. Really want to see them do this with the M8 Coupe. I don't care about the comparisons just do a list of cars and keep that list growing....

The NA V8 from Lexus sounds brutal

I actually kind of like how the Hellcat sounds too. Go American V8!

I watched that and wasn't sure what they were talking about when they said brake horsepower. Are they dynoing them and using a conversion factor to get crank horsepower? If so that has a lot of variables, just post the wheel horsepower

Absolutely underrated.

The Merc wins the menacing exhaust note award by light years though, even if it doesn’t come out in this video. I love my Bimmers, but will never forgive them for making us pay real folding money for proper sound.

Very cool vid, TY for sharing!

You could see their breath. Not surprised the cars made more power. Temps have a big impact…

At the end of the day, the gt63s was stage 1 tuned against a bone stock m8GC, regardless of tires even the 100-200kph times which tires have no impact on were about the same. Imagine the tables were turned the other way around… lol. Aside from subjective things which can go either way such as sound, looks etc. the m8 is just the better overall car of the two.

Not to get too off topic but on a current M8C, what is the best way to get more ferociousness out of the stock exchuast without making it sound too aftermarket?

Just do either primary or secondary downpipes, either or not both are necessary for that. Secondaries won’t cause a CEL that you need to code out so that’s probably the best option.
