Bay Area G80 Shops?

Hi All,

Does anyone have some recommendations for a shop in the Bay Area that can install some performance parts (exhaust, mid-pipe, etc.)on a G80 competition?

Is $350 to install a PSI mid pipe really high or pretty standard? I remember on my E90 m3 it was like $185

I was quoted about the same when asking about a mid-pipe on the G80. You could try and give Danny a call from HTL. He did some work on my F80 in the past with very reasonable prices and a super quick turnaround. It's good to shop around.

Performance Technic in Fremont. Great work. Not the cheapest place, but I'd rather make sure the work is quality. They lowered my G82, yesterday on M Performance HAS.

I live in San Mateo and my Future Classic short shifter kit just arrived so I am looking for a place to install. Will make a separate post reporting on it for my fellow MT-heads once it's in and I have some time with it.

Regarding Bay Area shops I called all three of the recommended places and had pretty variable responses.

HTL: "sorry, we don't do that bye." Short but fair.

Guy: "Nah, I'm just messing with you, I have no idea how much this will cost. Never done one of these but it would be cool to do that." Takes all my info says will call back or email quote. Yeah, PT is probably going to be more money. I had my springs done, there, and they were close to twice as much as SV quoted, but everyone swore by PT. Not that they didn't like SV, I'd just literally heard from people that work at a dealership in LA, and have seen their work, on cars that they have serviced, in LA, and recommend them.

Thanks! Actually, heard back from PT and their quote was only $10 higher than SVB and they have an opening next Tuesday rather than the following week like SVB. So now going with PT and will have the short shifter in a week earlier!

Oh, nice. I actually sat there and waited for them to install my suspension, and Brandon, that works at the front desk, he was busy, non stop. And I actually called, didn't leave a message, and he called me back, like 3 minutes later.

I had the complete opposite experience, and was lied to by him repeatedly and they damaged my car and made me wait a year for replacement parts.
