BMW Extended service contract on Lemon?
For a car that was purchased back by BMW and fixed, do you know if BMW extended service contracts can be purchased? The car still has its factory warranty, but curious if anyone knows about the ESC here.

Out of curiosity, what was fixed? Some companies extend the warranties out up to 10 years or 100,000 miles on lemon buybacks. For example, Dodge did that for Vipers that needed engine replacements for 2013 and 2014 models. I don't know what BMW's policy is for these situations.

I had a Golf R VW bought back. Crazy water leak that was eventually fixed. So having already been in that situation I’m not immediately scared away. My wife’s current car (Touareg TDI) was in an accident. We’ve had it for 3 years zero problems. Each situation is different. The car I’m looking at is low mileage and has full factory warranty (it’s a MY 21, not sure what the in-service date is, and if the lemon status effects that..) |

Update for future reference:
Called BMW, they said they don’t deal with ESCs and to contact my local Service department. Service wasn’t sure and sent me to finance who said an ESC can only be applied by the selling dealer (for this car it’s not being sold by a BMW dealership so they won’t/can’t). So ultimately yes, a Lemon can have an ESC applied if the car is purchased from a BMW dealer. |
