Parking sensor replacement
Sensors were not working so took my vehicle into BMW to have them looked at. After inspection I was told that the cause was damage to the front left parking sensor (from a rock, etc.) otherwise would have been covered under warranty. BMW shared a pic of the damaged sensor (below) and wants almost $800 to repair. Expensive! Anyone have similar issues? Any suggestions? I'd rather not get gauged for $800. It's a $250 part.

OT but one of my sensors has a big rock chip on it and it still works perfectly.
Can you remove the bumper yourself? If so, you should be able to replace it easily without having to pay them for labor. Or find a good German car workshop near you and ask them. I'm sure it'll be much cheaper than what a BMW stealership wants!
