Lucid Opened in Munich!

I had the rare opportunity to attend the VIP grand opening of the first Lucid store in Germany...ironically in the center of Munich!
The car is very sleek, and it's apparent they're striving for a quality product. Due to the large amount of VIPs there, I didn't want to whip out my camera and infringe on their privacy, but I made a quick video with my impressions....

Yes...potentially a real competitor. Right now it appears to drive great but has software issues. But it has great range. Its BMW closest competitor...the IX...has less range and an ugly grille (why does a BEV need a grille at all?)but its software works better. As in most things in life, one trades off one feature for another.

Saw a Lucid on the road the other day. It was evening time. Taillights looked amazing. It's like one big LED horizontal light strip from end to end. Car appears smaller than a Tesla.

Saw one yesterday, base model in white, looks super ugly.

The Lucid is about the same size as my 2018 BMW 5 series. As to whether it looks super ugly, that is in the eye of the beholder. Personally i find the new M3/M4 super ugly.

It's definitely a nice car…the price tag is a bit intimidating though

The rear end is really hideous.

I have reserved a Pure which starts at $77K. But I want to see how they drive so I have arranged for a test drive on Wednesday afternoon, albeit on a more powerful GT model (they aren't making Pures yet so I can't test drive one).
