My September order for M8 came in May 6th and was crazy excited but I didn't even drive it. The dealer was nice enough to trailer it to my PPF guy before it hit the road.

I decided to go with full PPF Gloss over the black plastic and Gloss over the Carbon Fiber bits, paint was covered with Stealth. I was very nervous about doing so because the Fire Red was amazing in person, but I really wanted something that stood out and was not the typical thing. Thought this would be the easy way, and my wrap guy said if I didn't like the portion he would tease me with, then we could stop and go right to gloss. Needless to say I feel in love with the stealth on the red, it really makes the contour lines POP out like crazy in any light or shade.

The work done so far is full paint correction, PPF, full exterior with wheels ceramic coated. Interior fully ceramic coated, and ceramic tint on all windows. 20% all the way around and 70% on the windshield. Nothing impacts the systems of the vehicle already tested them all.


Day one impressions:

I'll admit day one about 200 miles (of break in) and not really noticing anything crazy different. I like so far, exhaust note with top down is amazing no piped in sound.

Brakes broke in really quick and nice, very smooth and powerful.

The only thing I wasn't prepared for was the B&W sound system in this small cabin is simply KICKING...... I don't know how else to say it but from my X5MC with B&W to this, was night and day different. The sheer quality and how it booms over the wind noise with top down was very impressive, without the need to blast it. I am over joyed I held out and waited for the B&W and will honestly say without it (knowing how it sounds now) I would not have wanted the car.... I know that is crazy to say but when optioning it out and going for all the boxes this is a MUST!!! I hope BMW replaces it soon with something else for those who can only order HK right now. Good thing is though if you don't have a B&W now you won't know what you are missing so there is that.

Absolutely gorgeous 🤟! Enjoy the drive and al the heads that are going to turn in the process. There's a few 8-series owners on the forum here in the Phoenix area so would be fun to schedule a coffee and drive get together this summer.

WTF? That is pure blasphemy as I want a $3400 refund from BMW for the B&W in my coupe.

Don't get me wrong that gloss red was simply amazing. Its still there BUT I was looking for something just different .

If you look close you can see I left the handles in gloss, I wanted to pay a bit of homage to the OG color too.

I can't imagine what is sounds like in your coupe!!! I really wasn't thinking much due to the vert, but DANGGGGGG. Also I haven't done any settings just turned it on and listen to a few types of music. lol

I already got B&W in my M5, so I'm prepared to get ear f*<ked by HK in the M8. all the bragging and boasting is like no vaseline.

Yeah, I didn't mean to rub it in at all. But I had it in my X5MC and thought it was great and nice but mind blown in such a small space... LOL I bet the M5 sounds great with it too!

Cabin size is the key with either the 8-series or M5 winning over a X5 (in that order).

On a coffee and drive can help dial-in the overall EQ and sound profile when the top is up. That way if down you just need to tweak the trim settings (bass and treble) if needed. I do the same based on the source, e.g., SiriusXM vs my SSD but the same principle applies.
