Excellent question. Probably anytime from mid 2017 through mid 2018. My 2018 was built in November of 2017.

Will be on the sticker in the drivers door with the VIN. In MM/YY format. 09/19 = September 2019.

You could also run a VIN decode. Just making sure you are aware of this as it will tell you a lot of things.

Without more info (like the VIN)…this is impossible to answer since not all 2018 540xi models built in the same month. The SOP (start of production) usually starts sometime in the Prior Year (2017)…then EOP(end of production) will be sometime in 2018.

Ditto LogicalApex…look at the upper left of your VIN label on the driver’s door jamb. In the US market, the build month/year is at the start of the 2nd row on the VIN label. See examples below: (btw, the highlighted info on the lower right is the exterior paint’s color code…if there is a “/x” after the ext color code…it refers to the undercoat paint color.

7/2012 build date
