No surprises here.
The M240i is a more practical, less fun, less sporty-looking Supra. If you need a somewhat functional foldable back seat and all-weather capabilities (yay AWD), the M240i is the move. If you live in a non-snowy climate and/or just want an impractical sporty weekend ride, the Supra is the move. Personally I would pick the new Z over it and save $$$, but that might change if the Supra gets its rumored manual. |

You'll need to have some patience for the Z as I think it's going to be a long wait. I was planning to wait to test drive the Z first before ordering the 240 but figured the 240 is about equal in power, has solid reviews, and more practical. The selling point for the Z is lower cost to repair and Japanese reliability. The nicer level model, optioned out, will probably be only 5-10k cheaper than the 240, if that.

Why do you give so much attention and trust to these moron clickbait influencers?
Complaining about (not) drifting capabilities on a 4WD is like complaining about snow traction on an RWD, it's completely pointless, you should be aware of what you are driving and what you can do or not do with the specific car, it doesn't add any useful information to the debate. Also, someone should tell them to evaluate the steering feedback after driving the car on better tires than narrow snow tires, it is (again) pointless to compare a 225/45-18 snow tires car to a 255/35-19 high performance summer tires one. |

I saw this video and had such high hopes for it but I was dissapointed here. The big problem is everything they knocked the supra for (bad visibility, ease of entry wind buffeting) all seem to go out the door with them. The M240i is slightly less good looking but has far more practical use with the trunk, AWD and back seat. Yes, its 350 lbs heavier but its not that much slower given that part. The supra does look nice and I like the RWD part of the car. I wish they offered the M240i in RWD instead with a stick but alas. This is it.
Some of these car channels are so biased right from the go its crazy.

Interesting that they complain about the M240i’s exhaust tips while completely ignoring that practically everything that looks like a vent or aero or cooling on the Supra is fake.
Also, seems like everyone forgot that the Supra design was initially almost universally poorly received because it didn’t look like the FT-1 concept and failed to place the car alongside the R35 GTR. Everything changed when people started seeing them on the road. |
