Where to find paint code?

Looked in the trunk, on the door jams and under the hood of my ‘19 540ixMsport. Nothing. May need it to touch up a bad scratch and chips on my rear bumper caused by a car (a new X7) backing out of a parking spot. I’ll try to attach a pic. Think I can do it, or only professionally? Thanks.

Not sure where the paint code is on the car, but I did a Google search for the code for my car (Bluestone) and it came up.

In the US market...BMW has moved the color code to the VIN label. Look for your VIN sticker on the driver’s door jamb. It’s probably on the lower right corner {xxx/x}. In the pic below it is A52/7

Did you look in the traditional locations like the passenger shock tower (in the engine bay), hood (top section near the back closer toward the windshield), or along the front brace in the engine bay?

E32 7 series label was in engine bay:

E34 5 series & e38 7 series - right shock tower (LHD passenger side):

E53 X5 label was located at the front of the engine bay on cross bar that supported hood:

E39 5 series label was on lower end of hood/bonnet:

The label on my 2019 G30 is on the door jamb down low right above the rocker panel.

BMW sells repair-paint in sets with two small bottles. One with the colour and one with clear coat. Over here they cost around $15. So I would just stop by your dealer, and get the correct ones for your car. Nice and easy.

You might want to check out Dr. Colorchip as it's far easier to get a decent result than the oem touch up sticks.
