Gas Mileage with XHP

So I just drove from Orlando the Washington DC with stops in Charleston and Raleigh.

Before the AWD delete my car was lucky to get 21-22mpg on the highway on 93 gas driving in comfort or even eco part of the time.

Now that its RWD, I averaged 27-28mpg over the course of the trip! This was with zero time spent in granny mode or ECO mode.

Thats a pretty sold improvement, as it adds 75ish more miles to this cars cruising range, with such a small gas tank I find significant.

The more I learn, the more I wish I never bought AWD. Seems to do more harm than good unless you live in a harsh winter climate.

I'll have to try out my xdelete for the mpg, good tip. The huge benefit of an awd car is grip at launch ie. 1.6 60ft with street tires on the strip.

Yeah I just bought the cheapest thing I could with 6 cylinder turbo all wheel drive and sport tranny. Its been an interesting ride.

Are you able to launch in AWD and then switch to RWD after 1st gear? Like if I'm at the drag strip. Just thinking out loud lol.

Theoretically yes I think software could be custom coded to do that. But as it sits now I dont think the interface can switch logic that fast.

Xdrive isn't active after a certain speed anyway, the big thing to wait for is when xDelete offers the custom awd setting that is currently available for e series cars, that should make it funner to drive. In the meantime I'll enjoy my 3.5 sec 0-60, I rarely use xDelete.

Also a tip Kenny, at the strip go from second, first is useless.
