Production pause of MY 2021 M8 Coupe/Convertible?

Apparently there will be a production pause of the M8 Coupe and Convertible for MY 2021 at least for the US market. Any confirmation of this?

Haven't heard anything, but will not be surprised. There are so many M8s on dealer lots sitting idle for months.

By producing more, it will just create way too much supply and BMW will have to severely discount them even further!

Apparently there is $10,000 flagship money for 2019 built MY2020 M8's and $2,000 flagship for 2020 built MY2020. Its a repeat of the M3/M4 CS pricing fiasco.

Given the absolute zero difference between the 2019 and 2020 build M8s I smell a bargain with the $10K flagship incentive on the 2019s. Just wish I could only convince my wife of the same fact.

There were very few build spots left even back in January for M8 convertibles. Given the number still unsold and everything else, not a big surprise that few to none will be built for the US in 2021.

Has covid 19 further accelerated the end of these awesome vehicles? I seem to remember them beginning to build up in dealer inventory even beforehand.
