Bilstein B14

I just got a quote from a eBay seller saying that a Bilstein B14 coilover shipped at €800 (around $1215 AUD only)
However, he asked me to place an order via email instead of eBay.
What do you think??
Scam?

Seller:

"if you order via E-Mail we can offer you a discount on the eBay price. If you order via eBay we can offer just the normal eBay Price with VAT.
On eBay we have to pay for every order and they don't offer the option to sell parts without VAT.

You can pay via Pay Pal, so you will have the same safety like on eBay."

Thoughts?

How to prove to PayPal that it is a scam though?

Very tempting.
Coilover installation is around $500-550.
All up less than $1800

It's up to paypal, you just open a dispute that you never received the product's, they log the date and investigate. And I think they have a 30 day wait period just incase it arrives..then they pay you!!

You can look up paypals policy too.

Could even get a more competitive install price than that

Sad that labour in wa is so high.

Am still checking with the seller of the item.

Is it a bit abnormal to be such a low price?
Am worrying if the coilover is genuine..
Will there be any certificate from Bilstein?

Should be ok. Idk if anyone has ever bothered making fake Bilsteins. Would be a lot of effort!

"we don't know why the suspension is so expensive in Australia, normally the
Bilstein B16 Suspensions are for this price.

The suspension is new and original from Bilstein. We will have to order it
direct from the producer.

In the declaration from the package we will have to write the right price."

The seller insisted that he can't amend the parcel value and thus, I have to pay 15% to clear the custom.

Make sure the seller sends your a PayPal invoice with full line items and descriptions of the goods plus weight, value, model etc as much detail as possible.

Make sure they ship with insurance, tracking and signature on delivery.

And get a copy of the payment they make for shipping.

Then you can throw all of it at PayPal if they do the dodgy.

You shouldn't be paying their tax of its being exported? Only the Aussie import tax

No, I mean the 15% custom fees here in Aus since it is more than $1000 AUD.

VAT is at 12% in uk if I am not wrong.

Its common for ebay sellers to want to do the transaction outside of ebay to avoid high ebay fees (especially on a high price item such as coilovers)

Never pay for an item as a 'gift' as you can lose your $ from paypal! (no insurance so to speak)

I fkn hate PP, they've f@cked me over as a seller and as a buyer...

I sold a $300 jacket sent express post to the buyer. It didn't arrive the next day (australia post fault) so the seller raises a dispute. It turned up a day later the seller thanked me I asked him to retract the claim he ignored my pleas, so i submit my evidence to PP (receipt of the express post parcel) and upon there investigation it was insufficient evidence and awarded a refund to the seller... Jeez I was livid!

Then as a buyer I ordered a $1000 Franke granite sink from the UK, it arrived smashed to bits. Paypal wanted me to return the item, it would cost me $450 to send it back and still no guarantee I would get a fkn refund from them... So I done my ar$e again..

The seller said that he can split the parcel into 2, €18.55 each by DHL premium with tracking number.

Each parcel will value at half of the coilover price to avoid the parcel value more than $1000 AUD.

Coilover at €754.41
Shipping at €37.1

Checked the Bilstein price online at €972 excluding VAT

Really wonder why the seller is selling so cheap ($200 less than RPP on Bilstein website)

With shipping, I had bad experience with DHL (tracking number not accurate, parcel left in my front door), checking with seller for the shipping cost with company like UPS.

*with PayPal, the seller will send me an invoice over there, anything that I need to pay attention to when he sends me the invoice? Anything to check?

Thanks

I had a similar experience as a seller, I sold an Xbox 360 years back for about $500 (When they were new), shipped it and received the money, thouight it was all good.

Seller opens a dispute, I couldnt provide evidence I had shipped it, lost my Xbox and lost $500

Im sure that guy received it.

I went to Aus post and got a payment receipt, but it had no tracking.

Now i always get tracking, sig on delivery and insurance.
