Definite age gap at work here. CD's were relatively a new thing in my college days. Mostly still cassette tapes and records.

It's pretty sad to see everyone just copying the RB19 with their new cars - where is the audacity to engineer vs stealing someone's else work? Makes me even more interested to see what the RB20 will bring seeing as everyone is running what is now 1.5 year old RB car and won't understand the intricacies of it, the set-ups, etc.

I know it's part of the sport, and obviously you lose out on timing, knowing how to set the car up, adapting to the changes, etc. It it one thing to take inspiration from other, but straight up copying to me seems to a lack of actual engineering and design, which is what these guys are paid for.

True, but if you're a team expecting to mount a challenge to RB, simply following them won't do anything other than put you on a similar but 1.5 year old trajectory - which of course does not account for what Newey has up his sleeve for the RB20.

That's why the RB20 failed in the first crash test , because it was too light. The 2024 optimized aero package works like a strong DRS . In other words : A higher topspeed even without DRS . The HONDA PU got more cooling vents on the hood ... BTW : Today was Horner present at Silverstone , to see how MAX was running and to study the first telemetry track data .
