Can you all tell me what you were referring to? Is the 8 series rear has smaller seats and less leg room than the 4!!??
If the 8 series rear coupe is just as big or bigger than the 4 then we are fine it. Does the 4 somehow come with bigger rear seats!!??????
Yes 4 series has more room than 8 series due to longer wheelbase and more height. It's about 1.2" longer wheelbase and 1.5" taller.

Just to clear things up….

Where talking a 2-door M4 vs a 2-door M8 vehicle length and rear seat room. Right?

I just want to make sure you guys are not looking up the specs for a 4 door 4 series GC.

Well not sure where you found this information but they are not accurate values.
M4 is 189.1" long (4803 mm) while M8 Coupe is 191.8" (4871 mm) but M4 wheelbase is 112.5" (2857 mm) while M8 wheelbase is 111.3" (2827 mm).
Just look at the front of your M8 . There is about 30 cm of nothing and then that big V8 engine. So basically M4 has bigger useful cabin than M8.

The M8 Coupe itself is longer, but the wheelbase itself according to some websites appear to be shorter, and hence same for rear-seats leg-room.

From the video posted above, and how the youtuber was sitting in the car, despite what he said but it looks like the rear seats really can fit an adjust just fine. I mean his legs were okay and he is an adult... hence I don't get it why it won't fit kids especially with a carefully selected booster or car-seat design for small cars.

My 3.5 year old boy fits fine in my M8 Couple's back seat, with a car seat. And my wife (5'7) can sit in front of him.
Fitting an adult in the back would be a punishment however...Might have to remove legs to fit.

I was getting conflicting information from general searches.

I would go by what M6-Coupe has provided.

The real question is…. Are you going for that one at CARMAX? It seems to check off all of the boxes and even has the Bowers and Wilkins. 😊

Couldn’t agree more.

But sounds like he is more interested in comfort, and in that case I actually think the 840i might be the best way to go.

B58 engine still makes plenty of power, plus it’s a very nice car

I was in the same position and couldn’t make my mind up….so I bought them both 🤑
Carbahn springs will solve the firm ride on the M8. The M850 is great daily and has a comfortable ride but still leaves something to desire.
If I could only choose one it would be the M8 with aftermarket HAS spring kit.

Nice garage.
How do you feel to have two cars look almost the same from outside?
I mean both are great cars but the only disadvantage of M8 over M850 is less comfortable ride and you say you fixed it by springs.
Couple months ago I was in similar position between second M8 and M4 and one option was to get them both but couldn’t convince myself to get M4 when M8 is already there.

im planning to do just this with the M8 GC and M850i GC soon. Lease is up next October, and would love the M8, but prices are so dumb now. Just a couple years ago, i was paying a shade over $1200/month for an F90C with full leather, B&W, and all the exterior MP CF trim, leased. Hoping the incentives for the M8 continue and can maybe justify the $$$, but a test drive of both back to back will help a ton im sure

that’s the general consensus for the entire AMG line over the years. They tend to be a bit stiffer/harsher, i guess sticking to the “German muscle car” them lol. I drive an E63S wagon a few years ago, and found the ride not any worse than my F90, but maybe that’s damped a bit different than the sedans?

Thanks guys for the props on my garage.. To be honest the M850 made since a few years ago with the M8 selling for $20k over sticker in my area. I just didn’t feel it was a $50k difference between the two vehicles. But recently the M8 took a major depreciation hit so I grabbed one with 6k miles in excellent condition. I’m using the 850 for a daily/rain car till my lease is up.

Just looked up the dimensions for my 2018 Challenger Hellcat.

198″ L x 76-79″ W x 56-58″ H

198" is 16.5 feet.

That's the biggest car I've owned. Heaviest too at 4448lbs.

The M8 Comp Coupe weighs in at 4295lbs.
