At least at this point, I certainly wouldn't get rid of my M6 coupe comp pack for this car. I hope the m8 inspires me differently, but I'm still underwhelmed.

Few years? At least 7 years before you see the price drop to 3 series pricing

Not necessarily.... I paid $140k for my m6 in 2014, and traded it in this summer at $43k.....

Agreed, BMW had an opportunity to make a game changer and they just played it safe to please the masses.

Interior is beautiful.
I like the front 3/4 view in the orange, blue, and gray so far.
The rear-end will have to grow on me.

These things depreciate like a rock. Better off waiting a couple years and paying $46k rather than $130k.

Seeing it there in white, in such poor weather, makes the whole car look just bland.

Man I had this feeling seeing the pre release and now definitely seeing production models. What's this thing supposed to be competing with? The S class coupe? I hope not, the Benz sh1ts all over this thing exterior and interior IMO.

Looks really good on this pictures, but I still don't have a special impression of accentuated elegance, performance or innovation.
It seems to represent this over motorized "Old Economy Fat Ass GT" class that I once liked also very much, but becomes more and more absurd in the face of technological progress. I mean every M2 ist the better sports car than this one, regardless of specs. It is a question of concept, consequence and efficiency.

So does the Mercedes S-Class and Audi A8. And your point is?

I had a chance to drive my dealerships HEA car today a Allpine White M850i. Well equipped $120k sticker. Overall firm ride much more so than expected. Acceleration from 50-80 is solid and much quicker than expected. Overall a really nice car that cannot make up its mind over being a luxury coupe or a sports GT. I think the ride will turn off many potential non-M buyers. I had to check twice to see if it was in comfort mode. For me I am a bit concerned over my future M8 order as it will be a daily driver. Only time will answer that.
