Got the grill installed in about 30 minutes. Only issue was the two side clips. Took a few minutes. Looks great. Thanks again for the tutorial.

What method did you use for removal of mirror caps?

I got them from German Car Accessories. The source listed above. It came with a plastic pry tool. Just used the pry tool on the two clips at the top pulling while prying the tabs on at a time. Came off easily. Two torx screws size 10 took the light off. Screwed it into new cap. Then took my time lining up the new cap and when it was lined up just popped it on.
Watched a 1:41 video on YouTube a couple times. Very helpful https://youtu.be/8WMx8-grfck |

Okay, I just finished the install.
Note for those that plan on maintaining their m8 badge. You CAN remove the grille from both the OEM and CF trim. However, there is one slight modification I had to. On the OEM trim, in the center where the camera clips, there are 2 pairs of tabs that clip the trim and grille together, but on the CF trim there is only 1 pair of tabs in the center that doesn't align with the OEM grille slots. You would need to cut the tabs on the CF trim and it will fit perfectly fine and snug. |

Got the CF mirror covers today from https://german-car-accessories.com/c...ps-g14-g15-g16 for the M850i
Found the easiest way to install them was by removing the side glass first. One thing with the new M850i covers, this area circled in red needed to be removed. My assumption, it was there for maintaining some rigidity in manufacturing/shipping Attached is a pdf for installing the covers and side vents Last edited by fmzip; 03-01-2023 at 10:19 PM.. |
