Hi all, I have been enjoying this car just sent for service.
Other than the typical services such as engine coolant(have been getting sporadic low alert), typical engine oil change….Anything else?

It’s low miles about 8k miles

Any other recommendations such for cabin or engine filter at this time? Environment more rural lots of dust etc…
Or anything else that should be focused on?

Car overall has been great!

Does it say anything in the service/maintenance booklet that came in your owners manual binder?

The manuals discuss standard miles at standard intervals.
This post is for a reply about uncommon low use mileage for 4 years in rural environment specifically.
More specifically for people with this vehicle.

Somewhat related, but here in Canada we used to get 4 year free maintenance. Unfortunately that changed in 2022 when it was reduced to 3 years. Although my dealership now includes the 4th year as an extra charge buried into the MSRP.

Brake fluid flush if not done in the last couple years. Filters I would base on a visual inspection.

Aside from the coolant check and oil/oil filter replacement every service, it looks like the service plan has the fuel, cabin filter, and key fob batteries every 2nd service, brake fluid every third service, and transmission fluid, spark plugs, and air filter every 6th service. If you're at 4 years, you probably want to do everything that could have been covered in a 2nd and 3rd service.

It was reduced to 3 years in the US as well, however, you could still get more than "3 years" worth of service within that 3 years. While the maintenance schedule mentions 10,000 miles/ 1 year, 20,000 miles/ 2 years, etc., CBS overrides this, so you could just consider them the "nth" service. I only had my M8 for 19 months/ 18,000 miles and had 5 services at the dealer since I drove the car pretty hard. My SA was happy to squeeze everything suggested to be done based by a "5th year/50,000" mile mark within my service plan even though I only had 18,000 miles on the car. They'd often toss batteries and cabin filters at me since they were covered at that interval, but I just had them changed within the last couple of months.

Same has been true on my SUVs that I obviously don't drive hard. CBS doesn't ask for oil service nearly as quickly as my M8 did, but I average ~7,000 miles between services there (CBS was probably calling for them around 9,000, but I'd schedule the appointment as soon as the counter came up, usually 1500 miles prior). Even in a non-M car, that has me hitting my 6th service within 3 years over 45,000 miles, and they're happy to replace the spark plugs and transmission fluid at that time.

If you have antifreeze , I would flush that . The low miles means your car does not do 12 k yerar for the antifreeze coolant to be changed . This is important as antifreeze will turn corrosive . Every 12 months used ir not change or flush the antifreeze.

Great thread and thanks for everyone's suggestions. Facing my 3-year final full maintenance this upcoming December so making a list. I did add on the extra for brakes service but just under the 3-year period vs extending any of the overall maintenance. So hoping I can get them replaced but at ~14K miles now and likely 17K in December not holding my breath.

I will be executing the Platinum extended warranty for 84 months but at 75K miles as I'll never see anymore for that. Maintenance wise after this December I'll be "self insured" but won't lose any sleep over that. I didn't expect to keep the M850i after the lease was up but fell in love with the car. Extended warranty transfers so if I pull the trigger on the last hurrah in 2025 which is the expected last manufacturing run on the 8-series as we know it that will at least help with my resale (or trade-in) value.

May end up with a 2024 or 2025 LC500 which will be a performance hit but the NA V8 is glorious and with the 2024s including the new Infotainment system my only bitch with the car is now eradicated.

Ended up with the standard oil/filter, engine coolant ( I was getting an error for low level, it was found to be only slightly low, topped off, no issues since), did the air and pollen filter change. Car is running great!.

Bloozeman... You are essentially my doppelgänger. I also had the lease 3 years, loved car, bought it. I also just purchased the extra 3 years platinum warranty just after my oem warranty had run out end of March 2023 (so 3 more years in addition to the 4 year standard) . This was purchased via the forum members input regarding an out of state dealer with good deals. Very happy $5300 for 3 years, platinum also and at the lower mile plan. Much better deal than direct from bmw app or local dealer, that was at over $7300. The nice thing, this extended warranty is refundable, minus the the time it was used.

Cross shopping the LC500 myself! I've also considered this car and I'm very tempted to trade m850 for this in the next few years.

I'm debating between getting the AC Schnitzer exhaust soon and holding onto car for 3 years vs keeping the car stock and going for a LC500 for a change of pace, likely in a year.

Overall, very happy with the car we shall see what happens.

Besides whatever the standard schedule says, also check brakes? Anti freeze? Transmission? Any other fluids?

Transfer case and both diffs. Also for the M8's they say new plugs every three years or I think 15k miles. I'm hitting 10k and my next service includes them with a handful of other things.

Those are great suggestions, fluids and plugs. Brake fluid as well.

The main watch out is if those items are recommended only after 3 years, because my mileage will not be high enough.

My app is only suggesting an oil change coming up. Brake fluid says Sept. Nothing about trans or transfer case fluids.

Turns out that in Canada the basic no-charge scheduled maintenance “Service Inclusive” was for 4 years / 80k km for cars up to 2021 and then it changed to 3 years/60k in 2022.

So I’m covered for 2 more years!

But wait, there’s more, apparently I opted for an extended Service Inclusive package of 6 years / 100k km for $800 (anybody can buy this btw, up to 15 months post your basic included coverage). Which means that I’m covered for the basic stuff until 2027. One thing to cross off my worry list.
