Anyone Else Tempted?

Luv my M850 but Lexus really hit it out of the park with this version (looks amazing top up or down)...and the color, simply lovely! I know the TT F-Sport version will be a monster, but there's something to be said for 470 naturally aspirated HP. I believe they are finally now on sale. Either way gotta admit the attention to detail is impressive.

I don't know, but with winter coming any dealer in the northern states with one may deal. I really luv my 850 and seriously considered and test drove 2 LC500 coupes before getting my M850, but there was no vert then. Man that white/black/red vert is a looker...

Garage List
As stated several times the 2020 LC 500 coupe was in the final 2 of my overall down select choice that lead to my M850i. The NA engine is glorious and in the coupe they use membrane technology to allow the sound into the cabin vs BMWs fabricated ASD. The LC 500 lost due to the absolutely narrow seats but more so the 2000s Infotainment experience. Hopefully, they address both in the 2021s but doubtful on the latter as Lexus is stuck in the stone ages on that.

That said I still think the LC 500 is the best looking coupe on the road and now throw in the convertible and just a flat out WOW!

The LC's coupe seat bottoms (even the touring version's) were not as comfortable as the M850's but it looks like they may have changed them a bit on the vert.

Yes, I have been actively tempted. The ‘verts have been in short supply, but I have been doing extensive due diligence and am looking forward to trying one on for size. (If my wife sees this post, I didn’t type it. I’ve been...eh...hacked.)

Not the LC but what about this beauty as another (sportier) alternative. Not many cars look better as convertibles vs their coupe counterpart but I think the AMG GT looks best as a convertible. Although think coupe looks great too ——

The competition sure comes up with some great stuff and amazing looks there (I like the 2021 AMG GT a lot actually). But personally, for exterior looks, appearance and overall stance, I still largely prefer THE 8. I really love the looks of our 8 series. The interior/cabin is another story as we see above and know that the 8 scores less than the competition in that respect.

Will do, but no way to tell at the moment. There just aren't any around.

Among other things, I've been in touch with the closest dealer and I'm on a Lexus/LC500 board very similar to this one.

I think I may find it impractical compared to my M850ix (essentially no rear seat in the LC and a tiny trunk), but Lexus quality and the sheer looks outside and inside make it worth a strong look, imo.

I hear the SL will be brought in and built by AMG on the amg gt platform? Although it's supposed to be a 2+2 and they are shuddering the S Cab.

It seems they will have this SL built by amg and the amg gt convertible shuddered while keeping the amg gt coupe. Makes sense coupe drives typically want the most sporty option whereas convertible can be more A sporty GT convertible

Always great to have a lot of choices

I have heard the same, and they should all be quite nice. Most unfortunate about the loss of the S coupes and even cabs, although the coupes are the lookers.

Not tempted on the Lexus, may appeal to some people but not me.
The MB is very tempting, however I can't shake the BMW brand out of my head I always see myself coming back, maybe other brands are just not for me.

The LC is beautiful inside and out, and has a glorious V8, but Toyota being the stubborn company they are, refuse to listen to the endless complaints of their infotainment system which houses crucial controls like seat heating, ac controls etc, and its almost impossible to use safely. Otherwise the car is absolutely lovely and has so much character that turbocharged cars just lack.

Definitely a shame, the S-Coupe is a stunner, especially always loved the lack of a b-pillar.

I'm looking forward to the next SL, I liked the R130, but last one I really loved was the R129, could never get into the design of the R131. Hopefully they will shake the old man image with AMG making the car, just don't put the damn 4-pot in the car and keep V8 and add the new M256 I6 while adding in some modern styling and it should be great!

There's also no 360 camera which is inexcusable in a car of this class, at least it has auto dimming mirrors on both sides though grrrrrr

I still have second thoughts that we got the M850i instead of the LC500. The LC coupe is such absolutely by far best looking coupe on the market for a very long time. I'm still drooling, may be one day.
