M8 TCU tune

I've been looking, waiting, looking some more, waiting some more, speaking with Imran from Evolve, waiting some more (I should add, he's very responsive but his response is "not available yet" )... but I'm not seeing anything in the "T"CU (where "T" is transmission) tuning camp.

The F90 has TCU tunes available both in '19 and '20 MYs or so I'm told but the M8's TCU is apparently a different beast... who knew.

Why do I want one you ask (well, some of you do... others just judge--you know who you are )--torque limits; the car suppresses power BIG TIME especially entering 5th. It seems the Hellcat*.* vehicles have a tranny that can take the strain, although everything downstream has been augmented or beefed up, too. Anyway, my point is... I want the limits gone--they're annoying.

Anyone seen anything? Bootmod?

8 series is born with sw encrypted.
It takes time for decrypting, not far.
Stay tuned.

There is a lot of ECU, but I don't think you're going to see an TCU crack for a while.

Yup, agreed--but I live in hope. The power within this S63TU variant engine is mind blowing and addictive, too, but the torque limiter between shifts when I'm running racegas and high boost is infuriating.

Yup, understood--I'm not expecting miracles; rather, I'm ensuring that my quest for a solution remains visible.

When I was with Imran recently, I too asked if he was going to do anything for the 8 series, he was pretty honest in saying that there aren't the customer numbers to warrant him developing something.

I spoke with him a few months back on the same topic. We didn't talk specifically about the 8 but, by itself, I think you're right—the volume's too low.

What gives me hope is that the latest M5s will almost certainly be identical to the M8s in drivetrain, ECU and TCU—fingers crossed there's enough volume there. I find it strange that the '20 M5s are different, though. :

LCE Performance in Germany is working on something with their M8 comp shop car.

Oooo, good to know.

Any indication as to whether this is promising because these guys are A-Mazing or...?

Are you saying they do not have a TCU tune yet?
