There's just something not right about a 4 door Porsche.

There's just something not right about a 4 door Porsche...they need to bring back the 928, and already have the platform to do it.

I have an M4 Comp right now. Test drove an M5 Comp for half a day and an M8 Comp Coupe for the other half of the day.

In my opinion, the M5 Comp felt like riding in a Mercedes E350 Sedan except it was really quick. An E63S, which I also drove is closer in driving feel to an M4 Comp.

The M8 Comp felt one knotch below the M5 Comp - still noticeably softer than the M4 Comp, but you do remember you're in a "sport" car.

I went with an M8 Comp after test driving for a month (tested: E63S, S63 Coupe, 992, Panamera, M5 Comp, M8 Comp, S7 (RS7 not available yet), RS5). It's expensive for what it is, but the overall car is what I'm looking for. The car is bigger but not by much... the cabin is smaller than the M4 but the front is longer [overall car length is 5 inches longer than the M4]

I'm 6'4" no trouble with 992... also had no problem with 997 TT or 996 TT

Interesting point on the M4 as when I had my M850i at the dealer to eradicate all of the Cerium trim which was not supposed to be on the build based on my order I sat in a M4 while I was killing time. Given my size (6'6") I was surprised I could fit comfortably in the M4 but didn't cognitively recognize it may be bigger cabin wise than the 8 series.

My genetics thanks to my Dad's side of the family means I'm not square, i.e., I have short legs for my height vs upper body torso. Outside of fitting in a car conundrum this just means I also inherited all of the back issues that come along with the genetics.

For the 911 fitment I followed the advice of my 6'2" and 6'4" friends whom own them, i.e., drive the seat forward, raise it up as high as it goes, drive it backward and then lower it to the lowest setting. Ultimately though no matter how I tried my head was basically hitting the roof liner so I gave up.

I can see that. The difference mostly in the back seats where it’s little bigger in the M4 competed with the M8.

Yup! I believe also there is about an inch less of headroom in the M8 vs the M4

The rear seating a significantly bigger in the m4. My younger kids could sit comfortably in the m4 with no adjustment to the front seats.
The m8 front seats have to be moved to even just fit the kids in the back and be extremely tight
