Matte leather conditioner?

My '23 840i GC has a much more matte finish to the leather and interior surfaces than my other cars. Does anyone have a recommendation for a cleaner and conditioner that will keep the matte finish? I tested an area with my BMW leather care and it made it more of a satin finish.

Not sure if there are any difference between a 2020 vs your 23 but I had my dealer use Gtechniq's leather and other products in my interior (Alcantara as an example) and the car's interior is just like I drove it off the lot 3+ years later. Used their Crystal Serum Ultra for the ceramic coating on what was PPF'd and obviously everywhere else not. Car outside of rock dings on the hood (will eventually get that fixed as pure PPF damage) is once again just like it was driven off the lot.

Good luck with your search and application but if you have not at least PPF'd the entire front end, mirrors, a pillars, roof, rockers, etc. to begin with then you should considee that first before losing sleep over leather conditioning/cleaner. Easy to take care of the interior vs exterior in which one single rock thrown by a car/truck in front of you equals a world of pain.

Thanks, yes I already have PPF on the entire front end, as well as Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra and ExoV5 on the PPF, paint and wheels. I got that done within a few weeks of getting the car.

I believe it's best to not use any products on the leather unless it's stained. The leather is coated. Just use a damp cloth with distilled water.

To piggyback on this since I'm looking to buy a pre-owned car. Is there a product that can return "shiny" leather back to the original matte look?

Most of the used examples have a glossy sheen to the leather that I really don't like

I had a detailer put the shiny cleaner on and I have this stuff linked below. It worked with one pass of each. Use the gentle cleaner to take up what he put down and then the protection satin look to finish it back to that matte look.

I'll give these a shot on my current car and see if this works! Appreciate the suggestion.

I like Gyeon alot for initial shielding, and have probably half a dozen other brands of leather conditioners and products. My favorite for matte finish is Chamberlains Leather Milk Conditioner and Cleaner for Cars:

I use zaino z9 for my steering wheel to maintain that Matt effect when like new. On my old car with 25000 miles on, the steering wheel still looked new with a mat. Effect after all those miles

I scrub the steering wheel with a soft tooth brush

I can’t speak about using it for seats but it may be worth a look

I use Swissvax leather cleaner. Worked great on my fuchsrot Novello E90 M3 seats and my mocha Nappa G30 comfort seats returning them to like new condition. I.e. removed the shiny layer of oils/dirt leaving the satin or flat original look.

I use Cockpit Premium for that quick detail. It's designed for coated leather surfaces like ours and offers a great matte finish. Give it a go!
