Watered Down From The Concept
Same comment as I posted one the M8 Coupe story: The face appears to be dulled down from the gorgeous M8 GC shown last year. Come on BMW take a risk and give us a car with looks that do justice to the amazing power train below!

I think its likely going to be a trunk, but there is a possibility of it being a hatch.

Please bring back the Hofmeister Kink, and normal kidneys that are not even slightly upside down.
Anyway, the new 8GC will have a very Aston Martin-esque side profile, and that’s definitely a good looking profile. |

Last year's M8 Gran Coupé Concept hasn't fully translated into production indeed, but it was unrealistic anyway (humongous air intakes, slimmer headlights, slimmer side mirrors, no door handles...). Last edited by advantage20; 05-07-2019 at 08:10 AM.. |

Saw this M8 GC prototype in Palos Verdes earlier this week. Looks really good, esp the upturned tail. Sounded standard V8 M of this era and was quite fast (driver nailed from the light a couple times.) Excuse the poor quality, was hard to keep up and shoot!

That concept is currently on show at BMW welt. Sure is an eye-catcher, but I too am sad about the lack of hofmeister kink. I am hoping that the ducktail boot lid will make it to production though.

Not sure what everyone's complaing about. It still has a hoffmeister kink, just a bit more vertical than what we're used to. If there's any complaint with the side profile it's that it looks like a friggin Ghibli. But not an issue for those of us that prefer our coupes with 2 doors.
