2011 F-150 Ecoboost V6 torture test

Not gonna lie, its pretty impressive.
For the super hardcore N54 fanboys here, its a 3.5L V6TT, so yeah .5l displacement. Its understood.

Wow that was pretty incredible. Wonder what kind of stress testing other manufacturers do?

I don't think an N54 would be capable of running like that... but I'm sure theres some marketing magic involved in that propaganda.

If that motor makes it in the Mustang, there is going to be alot of pissed off 335 and M3 owners. Imagine how many HPFP the N54 would go through in that test LOL.

They all do pretty extensive testing, Porsche even has a test rig that simulates the N'Ring.

This level of testing is why I like factory performance offerings.

So does BMW

And there was a comment of BF.c:
"if the was a BMW it would have gone through 5 or 6 cooling systems in that time."

The NASCAR test was particularly impressive. Towing over 11,000 pounds at full throttle for 24 hours straight is no joke.

I was thinking about that, but its was a constant speed, with constant air flow, and there wasnt there stresses of accelerating and decelerating (minus the pit stops).

No way in hell the N54 could endure that. Lets keep it real.

True, once up to speed its not that bad, but the turbos will be blowing most of the time.

The drag races up the hill, and the upcoming Baja race are the most taxing nondyno tests.

True, but both turbo are in boost the whole time especially as speeds approach 90 mph. That test is also very stressful for the diff and the trans, as it is at max load for 24 hours straight.

they will be on sale on the second quarter of 2011, price is 1700dls over the base V6, 750 over the 5.0L V8. they are available in all trims except XTS.

a very affordable price and in-line with the competitors V8. the 6.2L in the F150 is a 3000dlls option only available in the premium trims.

If history is any indicator, it will be easier, cheaper, and better to reflash it. I bet the aftermarket already has their hands on this motor.

oh yeah i'm sure its already tuned to the hilt by someone. Ford doesnt make it hard to do historically.

I wonder if Ford Racing will release products for it.
