Hello from Switzerland

Hi

I was already reading a bit and now made a registration - thanks for letting us in.

We recently sold our 2019 Corvette Z06 Final Edition ( EU-Model ) cause of the lack of possibilities to drive and enjoy it, cause we have kids.

We configured and ordered first a M4 Comp. Convertible but changed our order to an available Showroom M8 Comp. Convertible, which we will receive later this week.

Looking forward to drive, enjoy and talk about the M8 with you guys.

Greetings from Switzerland.

Jaimie and Bastian

I hope your kids are very tiny if you are planning to put them in the back seat!

What back seat??? You call that a back seat. It a padded parcel area at best. I wouldn't put anybody back there. Imo they shouldn't even include seat pads in that area.
Some of the rear seats I've seen in various high end cars look more like torture chambers or a place you put folks you don't like.
Even in my GC they are rather sad for adults anyway. Nice space but tight.

I managed to get my 14 year old in the back seat passenger side with my wife in the front. Neither of them were very happy. I was quite comfortable

Well - for the daily business we have my wifes iX3 and when we wanna have space we go with the Shelby.

There is just not that much space on swiss roads and parking lots for it ;-).

Nice! Love the Shelby!

We're a Raptor family. It just received a new engine after 5,000 kms (long story), hence the trips in the M8...

Lots of space in the frozen north

Where in Switzerland? It’s one of my favorite places on earth, luv the people too (no bs, no drama). St Moritz is my top destination there, it’s breathtaking winter or summer. .

If you have kids get the GC. Overall the 8er is a fabulous package of speed, comfort, handling and decent lux.

Around 35 minutes away from Basel - lets say we have some roads in front of our door :-)

Also living in Switzerland, and soon to get my 8-series - but I must second the comment that parking spaces are among the worst in the world - they do everything they can to squeeze more places in order to get more money (yep, free parking spaces here are a rarity, even when going shopping).
In a few areas they offer "frauenparkplaetze" (parking for women, yes), or "family parking" (when you have kids and need a bit more space - otherwise it is a disaster for anyone having a larger car, pick-up or SUV.

Yes - parking is "interesting" in Switzerland

From which region are you?

If you haven`t found a 8 Series yet I can highly recommend my sales contact from BMW Hedin Automotive, Dielsdorf :

This guy is awesome.

Expat living on the French-speaking side - and I am happy to tell you that I've already found mine (hope to post some pics soon); just going through some license plate bureaucracy at the moment.

Already got the child seat but haven’t installed it yet in my GC; just too much work and when I get home it’s already dark…

We tried „something else than black“ cause the interior is already.

What do you guys think?

The mats are wine-red with gold stiching that shall match the flakes in the paint ( dravit ) and the few little red accents in the interior.

First impression was „not bad but also not perfect“ - but maybe it has to grow cause it’s different.

Black with grey stiching would blend in perfectly but that was not the goal this time.

But of course I can still order a set in black - another idea would be grey mats…..

I am a fan of these diamond stitch leather mats cause they keep the floor really clean and protect very well the interior.

I would have gone black. But then again I have no adventure in me for wild colored interiors. black ...black...black
And your right they certainly cover well. No gravel or crap in your carpet.
They don't look winter friendly thought.

Red with the blue lighting? Not feeling it.
