M8 and M850i dealer discount
Hi guys, I am looking to order m8 or m850i. What % off msrp should I expect? I know all the inventory 2019 m850i are between 15%-20% off msrp. How about 2020 models? Many thanks.
Really appreciate if anyone can share the price he/she got! |

I would say yes, for a $100k+ car is worth paying $600 to a broker and negotiate a better deal for you. Unless you are a master negotiator and have a lot of connections...I know I'm not... |

I'd wager a custom order on a new 2020 m850i probably like 10-15% off msrp; a new 2020 m8 or m8 comp, probably 5-10% max. but I don't know. that's my guess. unless you want to track it, I'd probably go m850i - it's a good balance of power, performance and luxury. however, if you're under 45, if you have tons of cash to burn, and/OR if you plan to race it, go full m8 competition. just my 2 cents. |

That said getting a 2020 M850i allocation will be hard to come by at this point and if you do get one the dealer will likely not go aggressive for a discount (expect 4 to 6%). However, as others have stated buy something off the lot (even if need be out of state) 15% plus is easy. |

Take a look at the inventory at Pacific BMW in California. For some reason they have 25 M850i Convertibles (but no coupes).
A great guy there is Greg Poland. Totally transparent deals. In case you would want a convertible, you may be able to get a very good deal there. I leased several cars from them over the years with no issues. |

I was able to snag one of the last Sapphire Black/Black 2019 M850i coupes in the country. My dealer traded for it and gave me 17k off the $127k MSRP. Should have it in less than a week. I'm pumped.

In my personal case I waited about 6 years to pull the trigger on what became my 2020 M850i and along with the first failed build it became a 6 month agony before the 2nd build landed. However, before final negotiations on the second order I still checked all available inventory to see if I could find a match that met my specs: exterior choices (willing to compromise), interior choices (willing to compromise but not black or ivory and full leather a must have), B&W audio (a must have) and carbon fiber roof (a must have) but came up dry. So in the end I settled for 6% off the 2020 M850i 2nd order but got exactly what I wanted (and even more so after the cerium eradication program was complete). That said everyone's mileage may vary as to what the requirements/desires mean to them and the discount associated with the buy. Last edited by bloozemanAZ; 03-05-2020 at 07:51 PM.. |

Initially I wanted just normal G15 M850i in "normal" Barcelona blue and other configured options and ordered it to production. List price was 142k EUR and I negotiated the final purchase price to 118k EUR (= discount about 17%), then while waiting for the car dealer told me that one First Edition is available from the factory, list price 161k EUR and they offered it to me for 145k EUR, what I said it is too much and on the end negotiated it to 128k EUR (nice 20% discount), so I took this First Edition. The true is, that at the same time we purchased M5 for my son (list price 135k EUR, neg. to 117k EUR) so it was better position for negotiaton while taking 2 such cars.

Given the black interior choice I'd recommend either Carbon Fiber ($300) or Ash Black Silver Wood ($1,080) for the trim. For the 2020 M850i Coupes they added Carbon Fiber but not the Ash Black Silver Wood trim. I tried to get a custom build with the latter but was shot down as it is only available in the 840is, GCs and M8/M8Cs. I went back and forth with the BMW Individual management team regarding the offering in a lower cost 840i vs my M850i Coupe to no avail. I ended up with Carbon Fiber trim and am happy with it but would have gladly paid the $780 differential for Ash Black Silver Wood. Last edited by bloozemanAZ; 03-05-2020 at 09:01 PM.. |

Congrats and gorgeous M850i convertible. Enjoy the drive!
In regards to the deal can you add the context regarding a 2019 vs 2020, off the lot or custom build? Those data points all factor in to a few inquiries on the thread, e.g., Firstm31993 is looking to custom order so his/her mileage may vary from your deal depending on off the lot, etc. |

M8 and M850i dealer discount
bloozemanAZ,
Thanks for the feedback and advise. You're correct on that Ash Grain Grey-Metallic Wood being light. The color in the build makes appear to be on the darker side. I do like the Ash Black Silver Wood and Carbon Fiber. I'm gonna choose between the two - leaning towards Carbon Fiber. Also, how's the driving performance been in the M850i? I read about piped in engine noise that comes into the cabin? |

I got 15% plus Approx $1K waiver for lease return charges, on a coupe September 2019 (on an 2019). Could have gotten close to 20% on a convertible, but wanted the coupe.
