The BMW insider confirmed that this bold front is the production front for the M8 coupe and gran coupe. The rear looks to be production ready too apart for some details. This is probably one of BMW's boldest design in years...

It's the same wheel as the 2002 concept. I think it looks great.

I know, but for me the wheel is to overloaded, but luckily everybody has ots own style

But I mean it more general, the recent cars that came out have not that great wheel design as they used to have, but mybe it's only me :

Well I think Scott meant that this is overall indeed very close to production in that most of the body, actual body panels, silhouette, kidney grille, rear lights... are identical to what they will be on the production car, contrary to the initial 8 Series Concept which was quite a bit more idealized.

However, aside from the obvious side mirrors and lack of door handles and grille badge, I feel like they've also tempered a bit with some other less obvious parts, even though not as much as on the first 8 Series Concept:
- Headlights: they definitely aren't as slim as on last year's concept, but they still seem a little bit slimmer than the actual production version judging from the spyshots and the leaked photo.
- Front air intakes: are they going to make them so high? 🤔
- Trunklid: maybe the ducktail spoiler won't be as theatrical (don't remember seeing it quite as high on the M8 camouflaged prototypes), but I hope I'm wrong.
- Rear bumper: I would really hope they keep it close to the concept, but would they really build a new bumper instead of using the M Sport bumper and simply changing the lower black part, like they seem to have done on the M5? Again I hope I'm wrong as the concept looks savage 😍

I think this is it. If you look at the M sport, it is usually a watered down M design so the M8 will stay as bold. Scott said that the whole front end is the production front end. It would make sense that the rear end is too. Duck tail could be an M8 only design, obvious for downforce reasons... Anyway I hope it is the final design like the 4 series concept was...

I think if that wheel was all silver it would look overdone but in 2 tone it looks ok. I agree that wheel designs nowadays are too fussy...

M specific complete rear bumper change is true indeed for the smaller models which have to accommodate to wider M fenders. For the larger models, sometimes they do change it (X5, X6), sometimes they seem to keep the bumper and just change the bottom part (M5? M6?) because the rear track on the standard model is wide enough and they don't need to change the rear fenders, so they also don't need to change the whole bumper, right? Correct me if I'm wrong. So technically they might not have to change the whole bumper, but yes hopefully they do

I believe for the cohesiveness of the design and to accomodate the quad exhausts and diffuser, this will be the final design, but I could be wrong...

This is a great flagship car for BMW. Very happy to see it will be offered in true M treatment. I dont like the wheels, hope they offer better options

This is how I think it will look when it'll reach the series production. Didn't have that much patience to finish every detail, but overall, you get the idea.

But still defined enough to immediately notice that the side vents are significantly smaller on the production M Sport than on the concept, and that most lines on the bumper are actually different, which was the point of the comparison had you read the attached text.
