oh nice! yeah that's what i used on my BSM X6M, looks legit actually!

i am thinking of not wrapping the rear reflectors on the M8 as I think the red might look okay but not sure yet.

oh - how are you liking that racechip? what setting do you usually leave it on ?

sorry in advance if you've already answered.

Scroll up a few posts for the gas station pic as it shows the black out rear red reflectors, much better for me!!

I like RaceChip- its a simple plug and play for an end user who isnt going to mess with fuels or bolt ons. Just a simple 15 min install and go on with one's life. I run setting 7 which is the aggressive one with my module. I think the newer modules (same effect) have a different number/measure for most aggressive but thats the same as 7 (maxed). Its good for a few tenths off in the 60 and more mph in the quarter trap along with a reduced 60 to 130 time. Im stuck in CA like you with 91 octane and dont really care to mess with fuels and more mods. Plus I can remove this thing in 5 minutes or less for service.

Ahhh your carbon roundel distracted my eye from looking at the reflectors, looks really good!

I'll grab a racechip from Ben then. Thanks for the info.

Counting baths. Less labor but almost $15 for precut. Think you should do yours.

Thanks man--- the car sure does impress for a fatso. I took it thru some local canyon roads and it felt really good at the chassis limits. Its impressive and with the exhaust mod and racechip, it runs very fast and loud(er). Id still say my Remus on the F90 was just a bit more aggressive with aftermarket cans. I do like the stability with the extended wheelbase but there are tradeoff's. Thats why I have the other cars which are all GT or sport in nature.

I agree with the black but when it rains and its nasty Im gonna get mad LOL.

I do like the small tweaks that the CE gives with steering, dampers, and other handling adds. Its a nice high 10 second car with great luxury inside although I do find the M5 F90 seats just a bit more plush.
Haha I didn't mean fatso. Just meant larger cars when they're black look better to me. Makes them not look overly large and gives them a sleek bullet look :-)
Does this also apply to large cars in frozen black?

Have you considered the GT63S prior to purchasing the M8. I am currently considering either one.

Indeed I did. I did some extensive test drives (20 plus miles each time) over a period of a few months. I did this because I didnt want an excessively negative or positive placebo effect.

The GT63S is a fantastic car, I love the polarizing looks and the engine grunt. There is nothing wrong with it.... but maybe the price point. And while I could have got one easily; I am so enamored with the S63tu engine (not the exhaust until modded LOL) and the BMW X Drive in the M car(s). The GT63S is not as fast to me and I just sold an F90 M5 so the M8 was a change while being the same at the same time.

The M8 launches easier and better, it runs a stronger roll game and inside tech is more fluid although MBUX has solved some issues in the 2021 cars. The GT63S has the much better oem exhaust noise and on perfect roads its a non wavering sled but thats also a kidney puncher when the roads are rougher. The car has limited forgiveness in comfort much like my departed 2018 E63S. Id call it a draw overall in regards to the main things I personally measure cars on though.

In all honesty I was very pleased with my M5 First Edition but this car just came upon me in a whim when a business partner said he sourced a perfect 1700 mile car and I could buy it for 103k with an msrp of 153k. I was sold- same engine as the F90 and I knew exactly how to do quick mods to make it more unique.

Appreciate the reply Vic. The last M car I had was an E60 M5, so it has been quite some time since. After reading your reply I certainly will need to drive both first to make a decision on getting into one of these saloons.

If the F90 M5 was a 9 this is a 9.5.... its just that slightly better. Of course its a comp and a 2020 so the tech beats the F90 First Edition that I had. Im just really impressed by the curves, appearance, and driver feel for such a big car. I dont have illusions of grandeur that its going to blow away a sports car in the twisties but this car can line up with almost any car and walk away in the "street" world as you very well know. Add in the super lux cabin with the fluid I-Drive and its a great "all rounder" that still has an individual presence.
