AC vent

Hello all

New to the forum and hoping you can help me out

Went to pull my phone holder off the AC vent and the whole vent came apart

So went down to the local BMW garage and they want an eye watering 3000 USD as you cant buy just the AC grille vent, you need to buy a whole new AC unit!!

Anyone able to point me in the right direction as I cant be the only one this has happened to

Car is BMW 850 M Sport Convertible

Garage List
I know it's too late but get a magnetic mount as with the 8-series there is room to put the base in the "shelf" between the vents and the hard buttons cluster. This works great for my Google Pixel 7 Pro and pretty cheap.

If you're iOS plenty of options including Mag Safe charging (have to deal with the cable) or just use as a mount. Only trick is finding one with a small enough base for the "shelf"

I'm still searching for a magnetic holder for the wife's LCI 40i as the iD8 configuration plus new dash layout give limited options on where to mount. On the 8-series my Syncwire is all the way to the right on the shelf and tilted to the driver's direction. So a quick glance to the right allows me to see the iD7 screen and my cell screen.

Happened to my wife's x7. Can buy them on ebay for like $30. Was annoying to put the new one in though. A small pair of extended needle nose pliers helped.

appreciate the help. I have ordered a set of these but interestingly enough they did not fit the 8 series. I cant seem to find the parts needed for my car as the ones they sent me are for an X5 and X7

Any inks for the 8 series would be great

Since some days there is a repair-set for the vents available, so no more need to change the whole unit.
