Even better you get to take that 100k mustang to your local Ford dealership for service lol

GT500 is kind of overpriced for a modded Mustang. Steeda Q850 Mustang is both more powerful and cheaper - a total streetbeast.

No surprises here, M8 has the fortune of AWD for traction.

I love the new GT500, but honestly I'd take the GT350/R over it any day of the week, even with the oil drinking issues. Also anyone saying that the Shelby's are "just another mustang," I highly recommend you drive them, they are great handling, sounding, and feeling cars, and good track vehicles. Shelby tuning make a world of difference.

Oh the track pack versions are pushing over $100k.

It's just insanity to see $20K+ dealer markups this widespread.

GT500 is an animal. It certainly isn't in its element; however, the M8C is a beast. My M3 ZCP is my first BMW and my first M car and the performance to me is light years ahead of so many other cars. Used to be a huge mustang fan. Now I eat those MFs up along with a lot of other cars I never gave much thought to. That M8C crushed that GT500.

Agreed. Mustangs have come a long way. I bought a 2004 S/C SVT Cobra in 2004 when I got back from Iraq and that was the greatest car in the world to me...then I got my M3. I loved that Cobra. Made 667rwhp w/640rwtq. It was a rocket ship. Never thought I'd enjoy any other car more until my M3. But yeah, GT350R is incredible. I laugh when people say it's a mediocre track car and doesn't handle that great. GTFO. Car is absolutely flat in the turns and sounds like heaven.

Imagine going in for service and they give you the Ford Edge as a loaner.

Makes me feel dirty for complaining about the X5's my old dealership used to give us.

I think I'd choose the C8 over either of these. The Z06 next year will probably be faster than both of them

C8 and M8 in the same sentence shouldn't be a thing! Looks, performance, interior, sound, anything!!!! M8 destroys it

I think you're underestimating the C8. The C8 is definitely more sports car while the M8 is more of a GT. As for performance for a RWD car it's incredibly good, the sound is definitely better than the BMW's V8, and for half the price I wouldn't expect the interior to be better.

I'll be interested to see... but it's still a flawed comparison. C8 != GT.

If cost wasn't a consideration then I'd agree with you but the base C8 will keep up with the M8 at half the price. I bet the Z06 will beat it and still cost less

GT500 pulls like a freight train. Of that thing had DRs on it, it would easily put 3-4 cars on that M8.
