The H&R press pictures that show little to no rake where the pictures posted by X5Mpartingout show a much higher angle of rake. To my eye his pictures make the the front look lowered and the rear looks stock. Maybe it's the photograph or maybe the rear hasn't settled but is it possible to settle enough to look like these?

H&R M8 Convertible with no rake:

H&R M8 Coupe again no rake:

Or maybe it's just the camera angle?

In both cases the rear looks lower by a lot more.
Agree by those references

There’s definitely more pronounced rake on my coupe. Still hoping they settle more - another member posted his before/after and his rears settled well.

And spacers, which really help the look as well. Looks great.

What lip/side skirts and rear diffuser is that?

I remember that for the M5, the HR springs for the 550 turned out to be much better than their M5 springs.
Same have been used for the M8 GC.

I wonder when people post, which actual springs have been used.

I've refused to drive my car until my spacers come in from IND, as it looked horrible with its current stance and offsets. As such, it has only been driven 20 miles since the springs were installed, and I wonder if that is keeping them from settling properly?

I purchased some cheap 12mm spacers off Amazon and grabbed a pair of 15mm from my old Benz in the interim - not to drive on but just to see it looks. Although they help fill out the wheel wells, the rear still looks like it's at stock height, unlike photos posted by SubzeroF90.

Agree that the rear looks close to stock, if just below that.

The best drop on the M8 Coupe appears to be the KW HAS kit that Ehloo has installed.
Few bucks more but adjustable and a proper look https://f92.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1770560.

We installed the MSS adjustable springs when nothing else was out there and that one could have been a little lower as well.

Hmm, that doesn't looks right.
Possible reason that I can think of, front spring got installed to the rear.

If SubzeroF90 uses the same spring and comes out better.

I don't think this is possible. The front springs are fatter and shorter and the rear springs are narrower and longer. Plus they are each marked F and R. The installer would have to be a moron and based on the pictures he didn't take it to a low end shop.

You'll be surprised. Haha.

I know a thing or two, because I've seen a thing or two.

The front and rear springs are 100% installed on the correct axles. I verified this when I installed my spacers (as Jenner said, they’re marked).

Good to know.
Just a thought to share.

Something is not right here--- Subzero has a completely different drop unless the pics where shopped. Ive lowered over 40 cars in my life--- the settling process, while it does happen, has been minimal in my experience.

SubzeroF90

Can you confirm what H&R's you used? Cause the vert springs are just not right on the coupe IMHO.

My guess (based on Subzero's pictures only and the fact that they look so different) is that in the first picture he driving the car (add drivers weight) plus accelerating (weight transfer to the rear) and/or uneven road possibly compressing rear spring a bit at the moment the picture was taken. Any/all of which causes the rear wheel gap to look less.

In the second picture it messes with your eyes because its taken at that crazy sideways angel. I loaded it into photoshop and rotated it to be level and it appears to parked on a slope with gravity possibly causing more weight to be on the rear springs.

Just trying to use what I can see and logic to come up with reasons for the difference. I agree 100% with Vic. Having modified tons of cars over the last 20 years my personal experience has been the same as his, the drop from "settling" is minor.

I dropped my convertible off yesterday at my shop and I'll have pics of the springs installed very soon.
(I'm on 21" wheels with aggressive offset though so it will look slightly different)

His car looks lower than what HR shows for theirs. Wonder if those are M550's. Have you installed those on the coupe or don't the rears work?

EDIT. Guess I didn't see Vic's post but agree.
