Wolfgang I think the stance is spot on--- how is the compression and rebound with the reduced height and damper travel?

Not apples to apples but how "stiff" (Limey behave) is the ride now compared to your GTC?

Hopefully it'll settle in time. Still looks a tad high...could just be the angle of the pic though as fender gap doesn't look as much in the other pics.

I lost nothing in comfort this time around.

I attributed the loss of comfort (loss of bump absorption) on the '20 M5 to the springs, turns out it was the combination of the springs and the 30% tire profile. I'm running 35% now and it's much better than the M5.

Tough for me to actually compare it to stock since Ben ripped out the stock springs while I was still signing with the finance guy.

Ben is very bad...Very.

I am dropped on 35 series with the F90- but its a very aggressive drop and compression can be wild on heavier undulated roads.

Covid-19 has made this more complicated plus we were still the dead of winter here in Minneapolis... 6" of snow over Easter

We were finally able to pull the snow tires off this week.

So with the help of Ben r33_RGSport who has been beyond helpful in getting this thing lowered
We need to find a way to carbon copy the guy or get him mobile!

Unlike the 8 series, there are no lowering springs available for the M8, adjustable or not, so the question is what works. limeypride got the 550 H&R springs and it looks great! The coupe apparently has a different rear than the GC.

With the very slow and cumbersome assistance of a local performance shop we have installed the MSS M5 adjustable spring set on the M8.
Added 18mm spacers in front and 11mm spacers in rear. Also bought a set of 5mm spacers in case the rear looks too aggressive but so far I like it as is.
I will install the 5mm spacers next week to take pics and compare both, in case others want to do the same...

Now we need to actually drive the car for a bit so that the suspension can settle properly but the front looks a touch too high but no biggie.
Car is also not quite level on pics. Sorry! Will take better pics in a few days...

Am very happy with the result. Not too low, ride quality is actually a touch better than stock!
We may put in shorter springs in the front once we see how the car looks after driving it a bit.

Curious to hear what you guys think!
Looks pretty good.

Not where we want it to be. But, it is pretty close.

Looking forward to fix it once the pandemic is over.

Ripped it out? Man, you didn't tell me to do that, it would've saves 2 hours of labor there, haha.

Exactly! Don't understand why this thing was standing so tall stock.

I recently saw a post with a pic of your black M6. That car also looked like stock M8 height. Did you lower that one too?

The GTC is stiffer stock but the suspension is very compliant. Car feels 800lbs lighter (which it is). Not a brick like the E63s...

The M8 feels just softer than stock but more planted. Rear has dual springs, maybe that helps...

Could be the angle too. I need to put some miles on the car to have it settle.

I wasn't trying to take the car down aggressively. At the moment the is about 1/2 finger width gap which I like (rear).
The front needs to comes down maybe 1/3"-1/2" but then I am good.

Our roads suck so comfort is as important as the look.

In terms of spacers, the front can easily take 20mm spacers, but I feel 18mm is spot on.
There are no other options for the rear but 5mm spacers or 12mm hub-centric ones.
We were looking at 10mm spacer for MB but doesn't work due to the height of the lip.

How much more room do you think you have to lower?

Any chance to take some straight wheel pics kind of like your stock height pics?

KW actually released their HAS system earlier this month but the drop is very conversative with max .8 F and .6 R. With that drop ots not worth the time or money to go with adjustable springs

You're the man here
So far I haven't of any other lowered M8's besides Limey and ours.

Most important was that the car drives well with the spring setup and it does. The rest is just fine-tuning.

Cool on the HAS. Will take pics but want to drive it for couple hundred miles before. My take is that we will need shorter springs in front (1"?) and then adjust to get it right.

Problem for me is that I couldn't unsee the stock height. Bothered me every time I looked at the car. Now it looks almost there. Worth the money even if not too aggressive.

Hmm, seems like that's what Wolfman64 have.

I do notice that when Imran @ Evolve did a comparison video between his lowered F90 M5 to stock F92 M8, the side mirror on the stock F92 M8 sits lower than his lowered F90 M5 on MSS.
Even the front lip of the car sits lower than lowered F90 M5.

Were you ever able to verify if the pads are the same as the F90? I'm in the market for a set of Porterfield R4-S as the brake dust on OEM pads is unbearable.

BMW stop servicing the brakes.
So, it shouldn't be an issue.
I have sold and installed many to F90 M5.
No one has reported getting trouble with dealership.
