Nah. I'm a serious hater of the connected grill on the other models it has been introduced on recently due to BMW's poor and lazy design execution of it on the already established models, but somehow I feel the 8er looks absolutely great with it. Maybe it's the motorsport roots (M8 GTE race car) or the fact that it's an all-new flagship car from BMW that deserves its own identity, but it also just looks good on this low slung body style.

I feel those who can afford this car have a lot to look forward to!

In case anyone else got curious on how the full car might look like, this should give a (very shitty) idea on it. I did these on Photoshop, and especially the side profile is pretty bad but I can't call myself a pro

Sorry if I missed something but why is this news? The magazines have full BMW supplied photos and renders of the finished car don't they?

Some examples are the wheels from the new M5, M4 CS or M850i, to name just a few.

The X3 M40i wheels are pretty okay though.

Yes. The 8 like the X7 and the new X5 and 3er will be available with optional Laser Light technology.

I think maybe I thought this article (as it was convincingly written with interviews and insights on new construction methods) was confirmation of the 8 series final looks...I guess the leaked components are confirming that. Looks pretty damn close!

Probably because the whole front end was designed with this style of grille in mind. Compared to the M2C which looks just comedic and is clearly an afterthought. Its shape, the slats, the outline, don't flow whatsoever with the car. It simply looks too big. It's bad design. With the 8 it kind of fits, it compliments the overall front end style.
