Have you/your spouse given your M-car a nick name?

and if so what is it and why?

My wife named our M850 Whitey Black for obvious reasons, or sometimes we just call him Whitey B.

Nope, a car is just a car for me.

But as I use iDrive voice commands a lot, and I am too lazy to pronounce "Hello BMW", I named mine an "Overmind" as this is something you don't typically mention in a casual speech.

"Overmind, show me tires temperature". I just love how that sounds

Yes in our house, it is known as “my car”. To be interpreted as nobody is ever getting the keys to “my car” and used in expressions like please be extremely careful when you reverse into the garage that you don’t hit “my car”

For a few days after I came home with the 850 'vert, I thought my wife had named it "God, you're such an idiot." Then...I realized she wasn't talking to the car.

My wife was more like "Oh, you got another bimmer, whatever. I'll take a look tomorrow" She's really not into cars although she drives our X5.

Well, I'm the odd one out. My M5 is named 'MaX'--as in "M" and "Xdrive".

To make my son laugh, I originally configured her voice activation word as "Douchebag" which I had to spell phonetically. The first time he got in the car, I said "Hey douchebag, take me home" and he about peed his pants when the car responded and did just that...

I wager more than just 2 of us have names for their M-cars...

Your second point is hilarious

Good idea as I've had to start speaking like a kid is in the car, i.e., not saying a four letter word but rather spelling it out. If either my wife or I say BMW here comes the assistant.

My wife controls the car nicknames in the house. She only likes white exteriors so I used the configurator to build her X5 in mineral white with a Mocha interior. We were able to see a less optioned X5 with that color scheme and she fell in love with it so I placed the order. Hence, she has nicknamed it Mocha. For the M850i she has nicknamed it La Bestia (she's from Bolivia) and translation is The Beast. Mostly that came from her explaining to her friends/relatives she is afraid to drive it.

Are you sure she's not talking about "Ray"?

Perfect nicknames.

The wife definitely has several other colorful nicknames for me depending on the context. I grew up in an AZ border town with Mexico so I'm fluent in Spanish and understand them all too well (positive and negative).
