GT500 came back strong but was never really in it.

This is why BMW moves to MXDrive, traction wins that pull.

Lap time comparisons would be interesting in the future but honestly I can only see BMW M8 being quicker.

The GT 500 is pretty damn quick on a lap as well. Should be a good race.

The 3RS was NOT on the cheater tire in the vid. Makes a huge difference.

What was the best trap speed for the M8?

Great reaction time to that driver in the M8

It would have been much fairer to test the GT500 vs an M850, as its price is much closer to the GT's. I always kid people that the M850's are German Shelbys.

Agreed and kept my eye on the 2020 GT500 as the date to pick up my M850i came to fruition. However, although I am a Mustang fan over the Camero there is no way I'd give up the pure luxury of the M850i for the GT500 as a daily driver. Would consider otherwise if I intended to track the new ride and with the carbon fiber track pack on the GT500 it's roughly $100K which is a bargain compared to the M8C.

However, one thing I noted in the video is the aesthetics comparison between the cars in the early footage. When the 8-series hit it was bashed as looking too much like the current Mustang. Was never an issue for me as stated I like the look vs the Camero. Although the GT500 has a more aggressive front-end look I truly appreciate that cleaner look of the M8C.

GT500s trap is way higher than the M8. Only reason the M8 wins is due to the AWD.

What? The gt500 (once it hooked) passed the M8 like it was sitting still. The pulley/tuned gt500 is trapping 145!!!! Thats insane

Now we need to race the c8 corvette against both cars as it is cheaper than both and faster to 60 per official spec.

So the GT500 won that 1/4 mile then?

M8 launches ahead
M8 isn't passed
M8 crosses 1/4 mile first

Sure if this was a mile, a half mile the GT500 walls it.

I will repeat my statement the GT500 comes back but as never in that 1/4 mile unless final trap speed is the only measure?

The GT500 makes the M8 look slow! And the M8 is no slouch...

The GT500 ran 10.55@134mph , who cares about 0-60 ! It's won big except on the run it spun lol.

This was more about the drivers than the cars, the M8 driver was far more consistent than the GT500 driver.

However, it does not surprise me the GT500 was having a hard time putting the power to the pavement. You can have all the power in the world. however, if you can not put it to ground it will not matter.

Not surprised. Domestic cars just can't put the power down. Why is the Mustang so bad from the dig?

Assuming both car heavy modified.
Still GT500 will win.
But M8 with high horsepower will put power in ground better.
GT500 when passing 850 horses it is hard to lunch.
Rolling race is totally different thing GT500 will win anytime

Thank you.
