So we've got pretty much everything here including Convertible and Gran Coupé. M Sport rear bumper is missing but we've already seen in the leaked photos how it will look like.

This car is going to look so good.

I'm guessing 2.8 is the standard 8er bumper, 3.1 is M Sport. The rear bumper is looking really good too. A lot of haters out there initially for those vents, but they don't look so pronounced in this image.

I'm also glad to see they're carry over a lot of the current 6er design elements in the grill. I know a lot of people swap out for black grills, but those chrome grills that protrude out looks amazing on the 6er and will so on the 8er

So the GC will retain the current hoffmeister kink, as seen in 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3. Which is great.

With good reason. It's hideous, hopefully someone paints the center portion to body colour and it'll look far better. Horrible design.

It's a design from the past it's not new.

Needs to be blacked-out and then it will not be so bad.

I'm okay with connected (touching) grilles as long as the border between the two kidneys is still defined. BMW have done this in the past with some Neue Klasse cars where the grilles touched but had a clear border separating the two kidneys.

The way it looks on the M2 Competition & upcoming 8-series it looks just fine with the border.
But on the iX3, it is atrocious due to the lack of a "border" and that's when it really looks like a generic KIA grille.

What people have a problem with mainly is the lack of a defined border between the twin kidneys. The 8er grilles will look just fine.

Rear bumper looks way better than that horrible spy photo that elongated the bottom part

It was an M Sport rear bumper though on the leaked photos, very bold and sporty indeed with the large side vents and black 'diffuser' but quite convoluted and Lexus-y and maybe more prone to critique? This here is the cleaner regular non-M Sport rear bumper with milder shapes and vents. Both fit the rear end design well IMO.

Looks cool though.
I have an idea about swapping headlight for awhile.
What I want to do is replacing led unit inside housing of M4 headlight with 8 series for example.
This might make m4 headlights look like iconic laser lights.

Any thought guys?

Close but no Cigar!

BMW has had kidney grills of all shapes and sizes.

And there have been designs that were partially open like that of Kia's.

Name me a specific one besides the iX3

I'm not talking about the shape, i'm talking about the borderless, open, lack of visual separation

I mean if you really want to be technical, you can find a precursor to everything.
There were even BMWs without kidney grilles altogether.
So maybe they should just scrap the kidney grille then.

I cannot find any vintage cars with it. Maybe Dakelone can find one.

There is most likely going to be a huge radar sensor in the center of the glass open kidney grill.

I like the 8 series, from what I saw (spy pictures, parts in this thread...) I think it's going to look amazing!

I got curious

I know these are pretty terrible, but I should be studying right now...
In case anyone else got curious on how the full car might look like, this should give a (very shitty) idea on it. I did these on Photoshop, and especially the side profile is pretty bad but I can't call myself a pro

My problem is less the connected kidneys, and more so the angle of the outer edges. It goes down. And looks bad. Literally flip that thing upside down and have the headlights follow the contour and you have a massive design improvement

*inb4 someone photoshops it and proves me wrong
