For an '11 in a desirable colors, i.e., Rosso Corsa over Tan or Giallo Modena over Black, then your high end price should be in the range of $205-$215K, if the car isn't one of the 70K+ in options ones. What's the window sticker look like, #'s-wise?

Mileage under 5K would be the above range. This also goes down, drastically - whether warranted or not, as cars crack 7,500 miles or so.

The price continues to go down as large or insignificant (to you) boxes become unchecked. Full, and I mean FULL maintenance records? If not, take off 5K as a start. All Manuals still? Does it have matched luggage? Factory battery tender? Factory/OEM rubber? All Technical advisory services completed? Clutch wear level, as read by Ferrari Dealership? PPI done? Does it have the Power Cube warranty, or just the Power warranty, or none of the above?

Also be aware that the '11's don't have the included maintenance package. Those costs are not cheap at all, but much less than if you were looking for a 355/360. Annual services should be considered a must, not an option - once again, this should reinforce the importance of full service records on price/value. Usually dealership only work being done on the car is the preference, pricing-wise.

As you can see it's very difficult to benchmark what exactly is a "good price" on these unicorns, as each car, spec/condition/ocd of owner is one of one, for the most part. I'd suggest dedicating a few hours of time to ferrarichat-dot-com.

*edit - Number of previous owners on the title can also impact what you should pay/can sell these cars for. 2 or 3 owners for an '11 isn't a rare thing, but you may see cars with 7 or 8 titled owners - that should raise some red flags, but once again the F-car community places seriously high importance on certain things that most other communities may see as mundane.

Thank you for the information and my apologies to other for posting such a question in the M3 section. It is not a highly optioned car, stickered around $230k, one owner, miles are at 3200, it is red but not the Rosso, all records are present, it is all OEM, I will have to check on warranty and yes the maintenance part sucks. I will check out the website too. Thanks again.

Yes I am - 190k is a great price for a 2011 assuming it has correct options and service records. Color also effects the price, I have always stuck with Red (Yes really) Silver and Black on my Ferrari's they are a safe bet IMO I have only ever bought from a Ferrari dealer I would recommend you do the same. A cheap Ferrari is rarely a good Ferrari.

Maintenance, I have been very fortunate with the 7 Ferrari's I have owned and never had a major problem. However buyer beware that if something does go wrong and you have no warranty its likely to be very expensive. If you buy a Ferrari without a warranty then again I highly recommend buying from a authorized dealer who knows and has maintained the car from purchase and if possible is a one owner car.... After that make sure u have access to enough money just in case!!! My old 550 Maranello used to cost me 10k at a time for service - I had service records that you could paper your bedroom wall with :-)

Best of luck, I have never regretted owning one, so choose well and enjoy.

190K on low optioned low mileage non-maintenance 458 seems a bit more than I would be willing to pay, but I'm a sucker for high-optioned cars so don't take my stance as gospel. As a barometer, on a very clean and well documented Giallo Triplo Strato car having almost 90K in factory options is currently on the market at $235. The owner will get that much for the car as spring passes and summer approaches. BUT, I personally think the happy place on that car, for the seller, would be 220,000-227,500. Take it for what you will.

$320,6xx MSRP on that particular car. Rare, Expensive and stunning exterior color. Absolutely loaded, but interior is filled with CF - which is not to everyones taste.

Another thing to consider is that some '11's may still be under factory warranty - which would then allow you to add the Power or Power Cube warranty to the car. The cost of doing so is definitely something you should research and use as leverage if you find a car you want to start negotiating on.

Good Luck, the 458 is simply phenomenal. An entire world ahead of the 430's which is a brilliant car in its own right.

Ok I just read your reply, What Red are we talking about? Its kind of important: Rosso Corsa (The Ferrari Red) and Rosso Scuderia (Ferrari racing red, a more orange red) are by far the most desirable, any other Red I would avoid.

230k is about right for a 2011 via a Ferrari Dealer, you should expect to get a 5% discount on that price in a negotiation, so 190 is a very aggressive price reduction... Is the car consigned to the dealer?

Thank you for the information. I have guys that look for things for me to pick up and a Ferrari 458 is top of my list. I am hunting for bargains always because I do not want to upset the wife too much. I would rather have a 2013 or newer but the opportunity has not presented itself yet so I am still shopping.

Its a consignment car and they called me because they are looking for buyers and feeling the market which to me is a little soft right now so I have been cautious. I offered $170k at first so $190k would be my top offer here and everything would have to check out before making that wire transfer.

Yeah you are right. These take a lot of homework. I know some "in the know" guys but I prefer forums first to get the basics so I do not sound foolish. I am a Corvette guy and always like Ferrari but never wanted to go through the pain of buying one. Insurance, warranty, updating financials, the sales process, etc. Buying a Corvette or BMW is so much easier but I want one of these cars.

I totally recommend that you get one my friend, my purchases have always been really easy because I have an excellent relationship with a dealership.. Buying a Ferrari is one of the most special purchases you will ever make (At least thats the way they have been for me) so its worth taking the time to get it right :-)

PM me if I can be of any more assistance, I've been where you are many times before.

I believe this man to speak the truth.

BigIsland - having owned 7 I hope you've gotten to the factory by now. Went two years ago to see a family members spec ordered 458 Italia being built. What an experience; I highly recommend it.

It was an unbelievable experience. I was in Maranello during the final stages of the road-testing of LaFerrari. The clay mock-ups and carbon-shell rolling chassis were both on display and gave a real peek at the artistry and engineering that goes into each and every decision Luca signed off on. Saw two light-camo'd LaF's in town, as well as a handful of 599 GTO's and what I believe to be an authentic 250 GTO - it was more a pilgrimage than a trip or vacation. A must do - if you end up in the F-market again and decide to order, be sure to press your dealership for the reservation - from what I know the factory visit isn't something that is advertised well so to speak.

Ah to dream...... only to startled with a high pitched yelling "did ya take out da trash! you on that dam forum again?" The image of me zipping around Italy, scarf around my neck sporting a striking mustache replaced with trash bags uttering under my breath "she is the real reason I don't have one..."

Yes, I sure am - thanks to the generosity of others I was able to have this experience. I'm highly grateful for having had the chance to see this all.
